Diana ran quickly into the cathedral from the horrors outside. What were those things? They had sharp spike-like arms that were wings! They had tentacles crawling out of their necks and they shouted like a dying tarantula, only worse. Inside the cathedral, Diana blocked the door from any intruders and looked up at the windows. There was no way she could cover those up quick enough, so the cellar of the cathedral would have to do for now. All of those poor people outside being massacred by those monsters and more! It gave Diana a shiver down her back and she ran towards the cellar.
When Diana arrived there, she realized there was something peculiar. A smell of death. She grabbed a flashlight from one of the steps and turned it on. With a small whimper, she saw dead bodies piled up like mounds. She covered her mouth, making sure no noise would come out. If she slid past the bodies and down even further, she could use the service tunnels to get out of the building, possibly even the city. If she got out of the city, then she would head for an evac camp. With small steps, quiet ones, she made her way past the mounds of bodies, towards the second set of stairs which lead to the service tunnels.
When she arrived at the service tunnels, her flashlight went out. She banged it against the wall, but nothing would work. She placed it on the ground and walked on into darkness. She heard a shatter in the upper levels and heard the screaming of the monsters. Christ! Diana thought. I'm dead now. Run Diana! She thought. It seemed like the monsters were getting close. With a flicker and flash, the lights in the service tunnels lit up. At the beginning, where Diana arrived in the tunnels, her Grandmother stood there. Her Grandmother was the only person who took care of her when she was younger. Now, she had nothing to do with her Grandmother. Diana began to turn around when she heard a slight sound from the Grandmother.
"One step, two, I'm coming for you." She said.
"Grandma, speak up. I can't hear you."
"Three step, four, better lock your door."
A slight memory arrived in Diana's brain of her Grandmother and herself playing a game where she hid in a room on the second or third floor of her Grandmother's house. Grandmother would say a rhyme starting with 'One step, two, I'm coming for you'. Oh no, this isn't my Grandmother.
"Five step, six, say your prayer's quick."
Another memory came into Diana's mind. Her Grandmother's funeral!
"Seven step, eight, not long to wait!" Her Grandmother got into a tone. What would Diana do? Diana began to run away from her Grandmother. Slowly, she followed, getting quicker by the second.
"Nine steps, ten, another more, too late for you, I'M AT THE DOOR!" Diana's Grandmother sprinted towards Diana, and the only thing Diana did was run faster. Closer her Grandmother got. She felt the world caving in on her. Diana looked behind her, and saw her Grandmother's eyeball.
Her shrieks got quiter and quieter...
