WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS AQUAMAN!
With all this hype over destructive superheroes such as (The) Hulk, Daredevil, Spiderman et al...
The highly moralistic antics of Aquaman are all too often overlooked.
This maritime poster-boy shot to fame in the late '70s cartoon 'The Superheroes'. He summoned his strength from sea creatures who could be telepathically conjured at will to take care of
the bad guys- sharks, dolphins, whales of the killer, blue and sperm variety, seahorses, anemone clownfish,
infact, you name it, he controlled it!
This talent however, had little use on land, as marine life have an annoying habit of dying without water.
For this reason, the A man was usually relegated by the powers that be to 'on-call' or 'freelance'
As a result, he probably spent most of his time off set twiddling his thumbs, smoking coral reef, and browsing
the latest glossy, non-stick, liquid-proof editions of Playfin.
However, while Superman was busy blowing over half of New York trying to save people and Spiderman was
leaving a trail of webs everywhere, Aquaman had his own non-destructive agenda based on a kind of New Age
pacifism and was without doubt, the most environmentally-conscious of the superheroes.
Doesn't that fact alone warrant a Hollywood epic dedicated to the hero who was, clearly ahead of his time?
