"Where are we going this time?" Ben asked frustrated.
"I told you already, we're off on an adventure" I smirked.
"You always say that Joe, and everytime we do go on an adventure we end up in someone's garden" he proudly said. He was right, we did go into our neighbours garden's just for fun and call them 'adventures' but this time I had a brilliant idea of where we would be going, this time it wasn't a garden.
"But think of all the fun we've had, do you remember Mr Brown's garden, with all the old statues and ornaments? How much fun was that? Anyway this time we aren't entering a garden, this time we are going on a real adventure" I told him with my same old goofy smile. "What do you say Ben, do you want to go on one more adventure?" I asked him offering my wrinkled hand.
"If we end up in another garden ... it doesn't matter, fine I'll go on one more adventure with you Joe but then I'm retiring for good" Ben said. After all we were about 74 years old, well at least I think we were, I forgot my age.
"Yes!" I shouted joyfully with a little dance.
"So what's the adventure about?" Ben asked. Hidding my cheecky grin I pulled out a map as Ben's face dropped a mile. "What's this, a treasure map?"
"Aha" I chuckled.
Ben shook his head and spoke, "So smarty pants, how do you think we'll get out of this home, the staff will never let us out." He was right, I'd never thought of that, the furthest they allowed old folkes like us was the garden that everyone shared, that was also fenced off so we couldn't get out.
"Well ... we have to escape through the doors, you know where the visiters get in."
By the look on Ben's face I knew he was ready for anything, "okay, let's go."
