Chapter Three:

Abbie: Love Senerio number six

September 13, 2008

The house was full of light and the roaring of speech when I first walked in. It was a ‘Welcome back to school’ party for all the seniors. Usually I don’t got to these type of parties but since it was one of my best friend, lizzie and I’s friend, Dallin, I was sort of compelled to go. (not to mention I helped plan it)

The school colors, silver (more like gray) and purple streamers looked tacky and were already falling from their positions but no one seemed to notice. I felt stupid just walking around by myself, I didn’t see Lizzie anywhere because usually when she was in a room- you would know. But I couldn’t pin point her voice anywhere.

I spotted Dallin Standing in a circle of people (mostly girls-shocker there). I stepped into an opening in the circle and pretended to know what we were talking about. Dallin smiled at my move but didn’t say anything. Dallin was one of those guys that like to act all smooth with the girls while failing miserably. That’s how we met originally, he moved in next door to me in second grade and tried one of his bogus moves- after it failed miserably we became friends and have been ever since.

I heard a crash and expected to see Lizzie somewhere but still she was no where to be seen. That’s when I spotted him.

It only took one glance and I was sold.

He was standing there with his arms folded across his broad chest, one hand holding a flimsy white plastic cup. His hair was a deep brown and in contrast his eyes were a vibrant blue. He was talking with animated motions to some girl.

Well that was about to change.

Let me tell you that I never do this sort of thing. I usually just admire the cute guys from a far. But something about him had me addicted. Something was pulling me to him. I didn’t feel like myself as I walked towards him with a little strut in my step.

I stood next to the girl and recognized her as a girl I’d had a class with the previous year, Sandie I think, I also recalled she had a boyfriend. I laughed evilly in my head. The guy turned his head to look at me and smiled but then returned to the conversation.

“Oh hey!” I said to her as if I was just recognizing her. She turned “Hey! Abbie! I haven’t seen you forever! How are you?”

“Good! You know I was just browsing through….I saw Bryan over there” I pointed in a random direction, “He was looking for you!” I silently hoped that I got the boyfriends name right. I rolled my eyes in the guys direction as he turned his attention to me, “You know boyfriends” i waved my hand as I said it- as if I was blowing something off.

Sandie glared at me before muttering a seductive “See ya later” in mystery guys direction, I scoffed in my head. “Sorry about that” I said to him “Are you new here? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before!”

“Yeah, I’m just visiting my cousin Dallin, but my parents are looking into moving up here soon”

“Really? Where are you from?”

“Oh, just the city outside of Crismen, Paminton”

We talked on and on about the most random stuff for the longest time and I found myself falling even deeper into his pull, I couldn’t name the feeling, but I could tell it was growing. My stomach was turning in an unnatural way and I was doing things and saying things like I’d never done or said before. The only thing i can even recall from the conversation is one thing: His name.

Jason Call.

It was one of those things….love senerio number six as I like to call it.

i thought i was going to turn around and walk away and never see him again. It was just one of those gut feelings. you see the hot guy and that random place you didn't expect to see hot guys (hense you're lacking the proper make up and such) and after you flirt it up a bit you leave knowing that it was over. That it was just a chance thing. The things said would be forgotten and the way you acted would fade so you go out on a whim...never see him again.

Little did i know.

------------

Later, I had just sat down to enjoy a peaceful lunch right by Dallin. He had been my friend as far back as I could remember. Thanks to him, Lizzie and I became friends! After I got done trying to make her life miserable, things were a lot easier both of us. Dallin had befriended Lizzie too, and invited both of us to hang out at the mall-without telling either of us that the other was coming. We ended up having a great time together, and have been best friends ever since.

I took one bite of delicious pizza.

But then, Lizzie happened.

I spotted her dark hair whipping around her as she tripped and stumbled over random passerby that happened to get in her way. Poor thing; her attempt at running was even worse! She considered herself lucky when after inspecting the day’s injuries, there was nothing that would need medical attention.

“Abbie! Bee! Oh my heck! I . . . . I. . . . . Cameron . . . tripped! Notebook! Oh my heck!”

She was practically hyperventilating by the time she came to a screeching, painful halt at our table and sat down.

Her brown eyes were bugging out of her head, and she was practically screaming at me and Dallin.

“Abbie! Abbie are you listening?! Didn’t you just hear what I said?! I just gave Cameron Cruz the notebook!!”

Now it was my turn to freak out.

“The notebook?! Lizzie, what could have possibly possessed you to give Cameron your notebook with his name in it?!”

“I know. I tripped. I fell. I was in his arms. I dropped my notebook. He saw. It seemed like the only rational thing to do at the time! Oh my gosh. I tripped and fell into Cameron Cruz. Wow.” She was dazed. I was Ah-mazed.

Dallin, who had been silent for the whole conversation stepped in.

“Wait, what notebook?” he asked.

I had forgotten that we hadn’t explained what the notebook was.

“The notebook is a science book that Lizzie made into her ‘Cameron Book’ so that she could space in science, and write Cameron’s name with cute little hearts and designs.” I said.

Dallin looked more confused than ever as he asked, “So. . . Lizzie, you made a book where you draw hearts and write about Cameron, and you tripped. . . . Now he has it?”

By this time, Lizzie had calmed down enough to speak clearly. She told us what happened as we sat there trying not to burst out laughing . . . too hard.

Yep, I could pretty much kiss that peaceful lunch goodbye, I wouldn’t be able to eat, and I was laughing so hard!

I thought it was hilarious! Dallin thought it was hysterical. Lizzie thought it was humiliating! Leave it to Lizzie to create the most complex, yet highly amusing situations one can imagine! But, that’s Lizzie for you, and that’s why everyone loves her!
