Underneath It All

Chapter 1.

It was a beautiful day in Arizona. The flowers were in bloom- wait who am I kidding? It was the same as any other day there. Hot and ….Hot! Anyways up on a high hill there is a huge white mansion. There are many windows but only one door at the front of the house. If you could really call it a house. Inside the “ house” lives a middle-aged woman by the name of Melissa, a middle-aged man by the name of Rob, a teenage daughter by the name of Bridget and another teenage daughter by the name of Alex. This family is called the Angels. Not because of their kindness of any unearthly glow they might have but simply because that was their last name.

“Mom! This is really not fair!!” Alex yelled with her hands on her hips. Alex was a peculiar girl. She was fairly normal to the world but in her family she was extremely different. She loved to help people when they needed it and was overall kind but she also had the temper of a tiger. She has wavy brown hair that goes down a little past her shoulders and has beautiful golden eyes. She covers her self up and barley ever wears anything but large sweatshirts and baggy sweatpants. Its not that she didn't like normal clothes its just that she didn't like showing off any skin. No one knows were she got her traits from because her whole family looked the opposite from her; blue eyes and blonde hair. They also love to show their skin were ever they are and don’t have a very big temper at all. Alex often thought she was adopted because of the difference between her and her family. The whole family was in the kitchen eating one slice of 7-layer chocolate cake. The chefs were bustling all around them trying to prepare lunch and the family was bending over the counter all sharing the cake.

“It is fair honey. You got expelled and we are now punishing you by sending you to military school.” Her mom said calmly while eating her cake.

Alex turned to her dad as her last hope, “ Daddy!”

“Sorry Hun.” He said not wanting to get into the argument. He walked upstairs in his bathrobe leaving his fork unattended.

“Come on! This isn’t fair!” Alex shouted in the kitchen

“Why not? You are like an athlete and there are gonna be cute boys everywere.” Bridget said while twirling a piece of platinum blonde hair around her index finger. Bridget had blonde hair and blue eyes; she is 18 and competes nationally as a cheerleader. “ I mean seriously what did you do anyway?”

Melissa went over to check on the soup to make sure the chefs were doing it right. Alex grabbed the plate and put it in the dishwasher and put all the forks in too before the maids could get it.

“Sweetie. Please let the maids do their jobs.” Melissa said in a disapproving tone.

Alex just rolled her eyes and said, “ I can do it myself.”

“So..” Bridget made a gesturing motion with her hand as a sign to continue.

“Fine,” Alex let out with a sigh, “ I was at school and these two guys came up to me and said they’d like to see what’s underneath all my clothes and then reached for me and I went on my instincts and kicked them before they could touch me and the principle said that it was the last straw and I had to go.”

“Where did you kick them?” Bridget asked in her confused stupid voice.

‘She is really dumber than I thought.’ Alex though before saying, “ Where it really hurts.”

“Ohhh.” Bridget said finally understanding what Alex meant, “ Well, you’d better get packing if you’re gonna make you’re plane.”

“What time does the plane leave?” Alex said in a panicked tone.

“Uhh.. In 4 hours.” Bridget said while looking at the expensive clock on the wall.

Alex’s mom cut in and said, “ And Alex, you are not allowed to wear whatever it is you’re wearing right now.”

“WHAT!!” Alex yelled which caused everyone in the kitchen to stop what they were doing.

Melissa signaled for them to continue and said, “ Yes and if you sneak any clothes you will be staying there for 2 years instead of 1.”

“But mom! I'm gonna look like Bridget!” Alex shrieked. Bridget was wearing a very revealing outfit.

“Hey what’s wrong with my clothes!” Bridget said while looking at her outfit.

Alex looked at her with a look saying “ Are you serious?”

Her mom gave her a look, which meant that there was no room for argument so Alex took the money her mom held out and just walked upstairs with a scowl on her face muttering something about evil moms and how they are…evil?

Alex went into her room and looked around. There were pictures everywhere. On her walls, scattered on her floor, and on her desk and most of them were taken by her. She absolutely loved photography. She walked into her closet and took out her piggy bank hoping to find some extra cash. She cracked it open and found 3 pennies in it.

“Okay so maybe Mr. Piggy doesn’t have a lot of money in him.” Alex said while holding the three pennies in her hand and looking and the reminisces of Mr. Piggy.
