A/N: I edited this a little. Starting novels are always hard for me.
Chapter 1
on's cheating on you... with me." The words left her mouth slowly, like she was afraid if she said it faster I wouldn't comprehend.
Vickey and I were in my house, standing in the living room while she fills me in on this revelation. When I had heard the words 'Jon' and 'cheating,' I clenched my fists. I had a feeling that he was going behind my back. On any occasion that I would suggest we go on a date or have some us time, he would make up an excuse. We barely hung out as much. I knew it. But I didn't know that he would do it with my cousin. "For how long, Vickey?"
"Uhm...about a month. But—" I didn't want to hear her wimpy apologies.
"Don't apologize. I always knew you were jealous of me. So you plotted to steal my boyfriend and you succeeded. Good for you."
She had an astounded look on her face. "I wasn't going to apologize. And you thought I was jealous of you? The truth comes out!"
She said she wasn't going to apologize. So she wasn't sorry!
"Vickey, you're a bitch, you know that?" I said, speaking my thoughts. On the outside, I was trying to remain calm. But on the inside, I felt like slapping the blonde out of her hair, the pep from her aura. And possibly slap the blood that made us related out of her.
"Look, I just came here to tell you so that you didn't hear it from anybody else." Wait, what?
"So your saying Jon wasn't going to tell me. You were going to keep going behing my back. That's awesome, Vicks. But didn't you have a boyfriend?" I remembered she came to a school dance with this really hot guy—Mason, I think was his name—and then at school holding hands. So Jon and Vickey were both cheaters. They belonged together. Ick.
"Eventually we were. When the time was right. My boyfriend is none of your business."
"My boyfriend wasn't your business either, but look what happened."
She shook her head and the curly blonde high pony tail on her head shook also. Her green eyes showed intent emotion that I wasn't familiar with. Vickey was pretty. I did not think she was as pretty as I was, though.
"If you're going to be this uncooperative, I'm leaving."
"Don't let the door hit you on your tush, sweetheart. You just lost yourself your only cousin."
Vickey sighed and made her way over to the front door. Just before she walked out she turned around. "I know what you're thinking, Ash.That I never cared about our friendship, mooched off of your popularity, and used you to get close to your boyfriend. But you know I'm not like that. And if you care anything about our friendship, you could get past this."
"Out, fiasco."
She finally left. Be gone, she-beast. I aspired that she would fall into a pool of toxic waste and gain a lurid skin disease. That was the worst that could happen to her. Hopefully.
