"Ascension" -- A Poem by Alex Sharpe
The zombies of the nightfall
Runners moaners -- slouching crawlers
Some so tall, their skin tears raw
By and by, these monsters reach
The horizons that greet each beach
From coast to coast, they crawl and they moan, Until they are left all alone
With no humans left to feast on, their time to live has come and gone
The world is left -- dry and barren
With not even the sound of a simple heron
