The Law of the Diminishing and Deteriorating Rhyme

( I’ve got the power )

If there isn’t one there should be

I’m not really one for making whoopee!

Standardization with little deviation

can leave one feeling breathless with indignation

Rhyme and reason and form and content

4 snug bedfellows in mine and your poetic tent ( a bit lame )

But what is rhyme ?,rhyme is what ?

The freedom to roam free or the tightening of a knot

It’s a fundamental question and I don’t want to burden thee

But It’s questions like these I struggle with fundamentally

And then there’s rhythm

the beat that I bang my drum to

I think Snap said it best,

it was from him I took my cue

He’s as serious as cancer

when he says rhythm is a dancer

doo –do- do- doo

doo –do- do- doo ( I’ve got the power )

propped up on pillows and delusions of grandeur

all creativity at an end

the law of the diminishing and deteriorating rhyme

will always be my friend
