Morning Coffee

Morning coffee,
freshly brewed,
there is no better way.

Served up hot,
in my favorite mug,
to help me start the day.

Drink it slowly,
sip by sip,
to chase away the gloom.

Just one cup,
is all I need,
and off to work I zoom.

In a thermos,
safe and tight,
my stash I keep nearby.

Throughout the day,
cup by cup,
until the well runs dry.

And when it's gone,
I am not sad,
as I put my cup away.

Tomorrow there's
a fresh pot brewing
to get me through the day.
