Poetry By: caaron

Birthday poem originally written for sister, but then revised for other family and friends, just changing the age.

Just 60 years

Here come the tears

But don't look glum

You're still a plum

If I may preach

A freestone peach

In prime of life

A lovely wife

But time goes by

And fruits, they dry

The berries ooze

And apples bruise

Skin soft, once fair

Now wrinkles there

And pretty soon

A Sunmaid PRUNE

Don't be alarmed

'Cause prunes have charm

They've good traits too?

There's a whole slew!

What's good you say?

Vitamin A

The next to come?

How to describe her?

Got lots of fiber

Her traits r engaging

She's anti-aging

Her age comes back?

Don't get off track

And watch your tongue

She's f'rever young

She may complain

Of aches & pain

But golly gee!

She's now 60!

She d'serves a whistle

Or a flaming missile

To d'clare the feat

It's just so neat

That she's still here

Our friend, so dear

We love her, all

Yeah, she's a doll

Barbie's her nameā€¦

Her claim to fame:

She loves & cares

Like Teddy bears

Come vis't whenever

In any weather

You're welcome here

Our lovely dear

It's just so great

To know you, (Kate)
