CHARITY BEGINS… AT A CHARITY SHOP

Not looking for a "Nobel" or trying to be noble

Recycling not disposal seems a reasonable proposal.

Man died of hangover in Dover

His pullover was a leftover

Restored to its prime, minus the grime

In a store I frequent with my lover.

I like to visit the charity shop

For books and operetta

It caught my eye and I'm not shy

A beautifully crafted sweater.

It cost three pounds, now that's a steal

No sweatshop labour is part of its appeal

Top of range, from snobby posh store

Kind of deal plebs can't ignore.

Warm as toast and dressed in cashmere

Don't feel cold, even in Grassmere

Have little money but I wont be quivering

Give my thanks to a goat stood shivering.

Prigs have fits of distemper

When confronted with my jumper

"You do not know where it has been"

"Don't give a shit, it smells quite clean."………………

Put your nose down, stop that bitchin'

Kindly get out of the kitchen

Allow me time and space to pitch in

Dead man's clothes, loved ones are ditchin'.
