Please Stand By...

Poetry By: GFJones

My first week on Booksie had it's share of computer disruption. I encountered a browser issue that made my postings contain gibberish characters and the text editor was throwing fits.

To resolve the issue I created a "Test Poem" to test posting and deleting in various browsers on different machines. It took me three rounds of writing and four attempts at fixing to get everything squared away.

This writing is the result of the effort.

Please Stand By…
This is a test post.
I am rather confused.
My words get all jumbled
Lost spaces and fused
They look fine in Mozilla
And OK at the Opera
When viewed in Explorer
They turn into slopera.
I'll play footsie with Booksie
And see what to do.
Bear with me for now
While I tighten this screw.
Please Stand By…Again
(A technician will be with you in a moment)
Explorer's the devil
Yes that's what they say
I will paste one from here
And hope it will play
I will need some more verses
to fill up this plot.
To find if my browser
Is worthy or not.
I would rather be working
On lyric or verse
Than fixing this problem
And shouting a curse.
Please Stand By… Resolution
(Just as I suspected)
The jumbling of words
Were not controlled by the fates.
There's mystery in code
That's controlled by Bill Gates.
The problem this time
was not with Explorer.
A firefox conflict
was the verbage destroyer.
I dumped it off fast
And upgraded the rest.
Wiped the slate clean
And gave it a test.
All is well now
At least for this week.
Confound these computers

Always needing a tweak.
