Can a bunny lay an egg?

Wait til Easter,

My nephew begged.

"For during that time, you must agree.

The bunny hops by,

And leaves them for me."

Ole Red's poor sister, so loved to bake.

But not from the reefer,

The eggs, she would take.

No matter the month, to the yard she would go.

She'd find the eggs there,

Row after row after row.

But during the months, from March til June,

She only had to search,

Her living room.

Many a day, an innocent face,

Lied so boldly,

Never leaving a trace.

Hands at his back, "I have no eggs."

Just believe me,

His sad eyes begged.

Ah, dear Bridgett, you've yet to be paid.

No long eared grandkids,

From eggs that were laid.
