A Fairly Fairy Tale

Poem By: JaneMeurig
Humor

It's a song I wrote, and you can see the video of it on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=BogapeJane. The picture on this page is of me in the video.

Kind of a parody on fairy tales, and kind of a twist on fairy tales. Or just a funny, twisted fairy tale.

Me hope you likes! View table of contents...

Verse 1:
Listen to my story, it's about all of you
Just you listen carefully and you'll see when I'm through
It is a sort of fairy tale in a fairy sort of way
It isn't what you'd expect it's really quite the fray
There's dragons and there's giants
There's villains galore
But there aren't any heroes
They're simply ignored.

Verse 2:
So the nasty fairies took the fortress, the giants took it back
Then the dragons decided to make their attack
They burned all the fields and made the villagers run away
The sorcerer captured them and made them work as slaves
It's depressing and it's horrible
When evil conquers all
But somewhere along the line
Evil's got to fall

Verse 3:
In came the wizard and he cooked up quite the stew
It was a poison to kill the king, in his body to imbue
But it turned out to be a sort of super-power bomb
It killed everyone on Earth, thus the evil was gone.

There's dragons and there's giants
There's villains galore
But there aren't any heroes
They're simply ignored

Verse 4:
God, he was devastated, he was so alone
"How could things have come to this? I should have known."
He remade the human race, but this time around
He made us some heroes so that evil could not abound.

No more fantasy creatures
lying about
What villains there are never last
Have no doubt

Every one of us has a
hero inside
No longer will we let
Evil preside

Verse 5:
This is why my story has to do with you
That hero we all have inside you must constantly renew
If you don't this tragedy may happen again
Be careful so that all the goodness won't be in vain

Every one of us has a
hero inside
No longer will we let
evil preside
