A caribbean poem about a man who is a a drunk and the local gossip who is spreading bad words abouts him, not knowing that his own wife is servicing another man elsewhere and everyone knows!

Gladstone Lush, was ah man who drink all de while-

From day break him noh sober, don't ask mi why.

Mout' ah massy Pauline, tell people seh,

From him first love lef him, ah soh him stay.

Ah man of intelligence, him have a degree,

Weh him get fe Sociology….

But, nowadays, him greatest subject is alcohol,

An kyan drink anybody under de table.

Him ah stagger down de road one afternoon, sun hot,

An him fren Jeff, call out tu him..

But tru him drunk, him nevva answer,

An Jeff goh pass ah remark bout how him ah drunkard,

An ah diam disgrace, when him tan soh.

Who tell him fe seh soh!!

Gladstone let rip pon him, an ask him seh,

if him ever beg him anyting!!

'Unu tink seh tru mi drunk, ah fool mi fool!'

'Well drunk man noh tell noh tales-

Soh listen me good'.

'Mi nah beg yu noh money fe buy noh drink,

Ah people like yu noh ha nottton fe du.'

'De time you tek fe ah worry bout' wedder mi drunk or sober yu si;'

'Yu want fe goh roun' ah Mas' Graham yard,


'Ah long time, she ah gi HIM weh she NAH GI YU!!'

'Soh, SI IT DEH!!!

Now yu have someting fe goh du!!
