life is just a game

i had a dream the other night, i was quite on the go
i sailed the mediterranean and baltic seas, you know
i was reading oriental poems by chance while near vermont
got jailed up by connecticut where saintly charles haunts
what an electric state, virginia, met saint james in tennessee
near new york i found free parking, what a great community
kentucky indiana illinois on stinky trains
atlantic ocean water lurks, didn't vent nor did complain
marvin gardens runs the jail, and so specific is his court
in northern carolina took a rail trip that was short
out in pennsylvania found a place where i could park
i found it quite luxurious, walked boardwalks for a lark
though you'd think i'd be exhausted after such an overflow
when the circuit was completed you could find me set to go
