Thank god for Thomas Crapper

Who heard the people's plight

He invented the flushing toilet

So we could have a pleasant shite

A high level wooden box

Lined with lead or cast

Filled with water to the brim

That siphoned out real fast

You pulled a length of chain

Fastened to the siphon bell

And it flushed away the turds

That used to stay and smell

At the bottom of the toilet

He used a little trap

To stop the smell ingression

Where they used to be a gap

A magnificent invention

Still in use today

Helps get rid of effluent

In a most proficient way
