The Longest Burp

Poetry By: Opus Rizuto

A short poem I wrote for my son about two little boys locked in a contest over who could burp the loudest, longest burp.

If you drank a soda, and I drank a soda, and you jumped around, and I jumped around. And you ate an orange, I ate a banana, then went and played hopscotch with Jacob and Hannah, I bet I could burp the biggest burp in town!

If we both ate pizza with Peter and Lisa, played tag with the first five people we meetza. Then once again stuffed ourselves to the top, with cookies and candies, more pizza and pop! I bet I could burp the greatest burp around!

We should both climb a tree, as high as high can be, way up to the top just you and me. Then shake and dance and bounce around, jiggle it up so the whole darn town will be able to see, which is the burpiest boy in the tree.

Dude, dude, dude! I really don't want to be rude, I simply must tell you, I'm begining to feel a reaction from all of the food! It could be the pizza, the candies, the pop. It's bubbling and gurgling right up to my top, like a giant balloon I feel ready to POP!

UGH! I think I'm ready to blow, I can feel it down below! I flex my arms, crinkle my toes, open my gullet and turn up my nose, get ready everybody here it gOESRRRRRAACCCKKKGG AAY BEEE CEE DEE BRRRROOWWROOOOAAAHHHUUuuuuuhhhhhhrrrp!
