Poetry By: patspoems

I wrote this last year for a brilliant writer on Booksie - pen name John Quixote. I could always turn on my computer and know that I would laugh, despite my mood, when I went to John's profile. He used to say that friends and family told him he was crazy for the mad things he said and done. Sadly John passed away - killed in a car crash some couple of months after I had written this poem, which he really appreciated. This is now in his memory and I must say that Booksie isn't quite the same without him.

I wish this world was full of 'crazy' people, The kind you make you smile when you are down, Some folks will say they're mad! Now I think that's very sad, What's wrong with going to work dressed as a clown!! This world in which we live is sometimes sad, and often grim, And laughter seems a million miles away, Then that 'crazy' man appears He'll cross his eyes and twitch his ears, Then he'll bow and tell you, "have a lovely day". You might mutter you might frown, Say "he's crazy that there clown" But in the end I'm sure you will agree, He brings laughter, he brings fun And when the day is done You will wish this world was full of 'crazy' people.
