Rippin' off the Folks

Poetry By: pgordon

Rippin’ off the Folks
(Sung to the tune of “Puttin’ on the Ritz”)

If you’re poor and you don’t know where to go
Why don’t you go where congress sits
Rippin’ off the folks
Different types were suits and ties
And facades of perfect fit
Rippin’ off the folks
Dressed up like piggish little bankers
Trying hard to look like honest people
Come let’s mix where greed rules the world
Or the grasping pigs
Rippin’ off the folks
Have you seen the piggy pigs up and down Wall Street
On that famous thoroughfare with their egos in the sky
High finance and lots of greed for dollars
Seeking every dime for a selfish parties
If you’re poor and don’t know where to go
Why don’t you go where congress sits
Rippin’ off the folks
Rippin’ off the folks
Rippin’ off the folks
