DON’T TALK
Don’t talk just to talk, don’t speak unless spoken to
Don’t talk out your ass, don’t talk till your blue
Don’t say things you’ll regret, you can’t take them back
Don’t say something mean, it will come back at you
Don’t talk in anger, it will be viewed as attack
Don’t say something sad, you’ll be thought of as black
Don’t say something stupid, they’ll think you’re a goof
Don't tell them they're wrong, they could hit the roof
Don't talk to strangers, it could get you in trouble
Don't tell people the truth, it could burst their bubble
Don't talk out of turn, don't talk out of school
Don't say something crazy, that will make you a fool
Don't yell at the children, don't yell at your wife
Don't tell her to shut up, she'll ruin your life
Don't yell at your mother, it may make her sad
Don't yell at your father, it may make him mad
Don't talk at the movies, you know that is rude
Don't say something dirty, don't say something crude
Don’t talk to police, and don’t talk to yourself
Don’t talk about suicide, they’ll think you need help
Don’t talk about politics, you’ll end up in a fight
Don’t talk about religion, people take that as slight
It’s advice I’ve been given, but I wouldn't listen
On looking back, there’s regrets I envision
I’ve tried to get better, I’ve tried and endeavored
But my mouth won’t abide, it’s not a conscious decision
Heed the advice, it will bring benefit
I made it my my vice, now I'm feeling like shit
I thought I was brilliant, I thought I was clever
Today I know different, I’m as stupid as ever
