JD hated Stephanie, but he decided to take the high road this time.“Do you want to do our normal thing, or do you want to just keep going?” said JD.Just as they were about to pass the town’s sign, Taylor said “I would just like to get to the cabin, and get prepared.” said Taylor. Before JD could respond to this, Taylor said “I know you need to transfer funds and I can clearly see you need a haircut.Let’s just stop, I guess.” said Taylor.By this time,
“Do you want to do our normal thing there, or should I just keep driving?” said JD. “I would like to just get to the cabin.” said Taylor. Before he could respond to that statement, she said “I know you need to transfer your funds, and I can see you clearly need a haircut. So fuck it, let’s stop.” By the time Taylor got this all out, it was time for JD to put on his signal to turn into the bank parking lot. The barbershop lot was gravel, so JD didn’t want to park his classic there. Not only that, but the bank and barbershop were on opposite sides of the street.

As JD turned, he opened the center console. When he did, Taylor reached in and picked up the envelope with his check in it. When she did this, she said, “I understand why you have to issue yourself a check every week, but why do you always put it in the envelope? Why don’t you just put it in your pocket, or reuse the same envelope?” As JD pulled the car into a spot, he said “I do it to get a reaction out of you, and of course, I love to waste trees and money.” By the time JD was done parking, him and Taylor had eye to eye contact.
As Taylor reached for the door handle, she said “Go get pretty for me, baby.” She opened the opened door, leaned over, and kissed JD before she exit the car. Taylor walked towards the bank doors as JD got out. As JD walked across, he noticed a potential problem. When he got close to the shop, he looked down at the foundation.Earlier in the week, he read an article in their local paper about Stanford’s Barbershop. The article was about how the shop was being vibrated to death.
Recently the road in front of the shop was expanded from two lanes to four lanes.Apparently, the rhythmic pounding and roaring of heavy equipment did $45,000 to $68,000 worth of damage to Stanford’s building.Stanford’s claims were that huge cracks developed in his basement walls due to the redevelopment of the road.Other interesting claims were that the wood work and staircases pulled away from the wall.Stanford also claimed the ceilings were sagging and cracking from issues brought on by this new road.JD did see the minor foundation issue, but that didn’t stop him from going in.
There were 4 cars in the small parking lot of the barbershop. This could mean that JD was going to wait a long time for his haircut. As he got closer to the typical downtown barbershop, he could see two women waiting and two young boys in the chair.
As he made his way out the door, he noticed that he knew the people in the shop. When he opened the door a bell chimed. As he made it through the door, he saw two young men in the barber chairs. JD knew who they were. The boy in the chair closest to the door, Robert, and the young man was Rick.
When Robert saw JD, he said “Hi Coach!” in an excited manner. JD knew the young men, because he coached their baseball team. As JD walked towards the chair, Stanford, Robert’ barber, put his straight razor down. Both of the young men were having their heads shaved to the skin. When JD got closer, Stanford put out his hand. JD gave Stanford a prime handshake, as Stanford said, “It is going to be about 15 minutes…both ladies are ahead of you.
Before JD made his way over to the wooden benches, he said “You ready for Monday’s game, Robert?” Robert responded by saying, “I’ll be ready, coach.” JD nodded at him and headed towards where his sisters were sitting. One of the women in the shop was Vollie. She just turned 18, and JD thought she was the prettiest woman he had ever seen in real life. The girl was April.
By the time JD made it to the benches, Vollie was standing up. She got up so JD could give her a hug. She thought JD was something else, too. However, she knew JD was 100% committed to Taylor. After JD gave her a big hug and her hand as they made their way back to their bench. There were two oak benches in the shop. April was sitting on one and Vollie and JD had one.
When they sat down, Vollie said “say hi to your coach, Rick” in a stern voice.“Go suck an egg” said Rick to the blonde headed sister. This barber, Rachel, stopped shaving him with a razor, and hit with the palm of her left hand. She made contact with the back of his freshly shaved head. As she was doing this, she said “You will not talk like that in my shop.” As soon as she got this out, Rick said “Can I be done then?”
Without hast Rachel put down the razor, removed the cape, and pulled the tissue paper away from his neck. “You’re done”, she said as she lowered the chair and he got out of the chair. As he got out of the chair, he headed towards the door, Stanford said, “He’s now allowed back in here.” As Rick opened the door and walked out, he said “Good.” Rachel looked directly at April, and said “It’s your money.” April and her over grown bob went from the bench and made their way to the 1970 Belmont chair. By now, JD and Vollie were so deep in conversation; they were not paying attention to anything that was going on around them. When April, 16 year old got comfortable in the seat, Rachel quickly caped and picked up her clippers and began working on her. She didn’t ask what kind of haircut she wanted because when they walked in Vollie handed Stanford an envelope.
Before their mother left the house that morning, she wrote a note for Vollie to give to the barber. She put the note and $20 in the envelope. She put $20 in the envelope because Stanford and Rachel charge $5.00 a head for haircuts. The note she wrote wasn’t all that detailed. It said, 2 boy-clean shave. Girl – pick their own style. This doesn’t seem like the way most mothers would do things, but it was the way their mother does things.
Rachel had a number 2 guide on clippers, when she started clipping the back of April’s head. When she finished, she turned the chair so the uncut side was facing JD and Vollie. By the time Rachel was ready to start that side, Robert was hopping out of Stanford’s chair. This haircut was scaring April. She became scared because it felt like the clippers was cutting too high for the style. She didn’t know what style her mother wrote down and she could see the clipper attachment being used.
Before Rachel can get some clipping done on April’s head, the phone rings. Rachel turned off the clippers, set it down on the vanity behind the chair and answered the phone. April sees it as her chance to see how it feels having short hair. She pulls her hand from underneath the cape, and feels the side of her head. When she feels how short it is, she bursts into tears. This gets her sister, and Vollie walks over to see what is going on. Vollie is in complete shock when she sees how short the cut is. By now Stanford is ready for Vollie. “Have a seat mam”, said Stanford. All Vollie can do is star at what happened to her sister. “Come on, honey. I don’t have all day.” said Stanford in a stern voice. By now, JD has gotten up and has turned the chair, so he can get a better view of the side, as Vollie is almost frozen in tears. “Don’t go moving my chair, boy.” Said Rachel, as she picked up the clippers and turned them on. JD was the first person to say something. “Why would you do this to this girl?” said JD. “It will all look right once I buzz the top off and shorten the sides.” When April heard this, she began crying louder. In a few days she was leaving for Job Corps. What were people going to think of her, she thought.
By this point in time, Stanford was getting mad. “Don’t make me tell you again.”After he said this and Vollie made no efforts to sit down, he tried to grab her arm. JD grabbed his before he could grab hers. When he did this, he said, “Back off, Stanford. This isn’t the military. If she doesn’t want a haircut, she isn’t going to be forced to get one.” When JD said this to him, he put both hands up and took a seat in his barber chair.JD, the older girl gave my husband an envelope. Inside the envelope were $20 and a note. The note for 4 shaves. “Girls can have a little hair left”, said Rachel.
Before Rachel can finish her thought, Vollie said, May I see the note, please. My mother has issues, but I think she is that crazy.” Without hesitation, Rachel picked up the note off the counter and handed it to Vollie. Vollie took one look at it, and she said, “This isn’t mom’s handwriting. It’s Ricks.” She took a brief pause, and then said “I checked all their homework every night, my mom is to active in that respect. It’s definitely Rick’s.” Everyone in the shop looked at Rick through the window. When he noticed this, he ran.
JD immediately exited the shop in effort to catch him. Vollie looked at Stanford and said, “I’m so very sorry my family has caused all these problems in your shop.”Before she could say more Rachel said, “All we can do is move forward and make sure it doesn’t happen again.” She walked over by April, and said “Stop crying! I’m going to make you beautiful. The bald fade I do is very popular with new moms and young country gals.” April did as she was told and Rachel got back to work on her hair. When
Vollie thought everything was alright she sat on the bench next to Robert.
Rachel was almost done with April, when Taylor walked in. “Is everything okay over here.” asked Taylor.Vollie kind of squinted and said “Taylor.” Taylor walked toward them and said, “Of course.” As Vollie got up to hug her she said “Damn, girl. You cut off a lot of hair.” When she said this spun around, so Vollie could see how it looked all around. After she completed her spin, the 2 women hugged. After they parted ways from their hug, Vollie pointed at Taylor’s head and said, “I want this.”
“I no longer wish to have your dysfunctional family in my shop or on my property.Pack up the circus and get the fuck off my property.” said Stanford. As Stanford was saying this, Rachel was uncapping April. As Rachel was lowering the chair to make it easier for April to get out of the chair, she said “We don’t ever want to see you all in our shop again.Don’t come back!” Clearly both Rachel and Stanford were very upset. As April and Vollie made their way toward the door to exit the shop, Taylor said “Is it okay if I wait here for JD to return?” Rachel said “We don’t have any beef with you or JD.”
As Taylor made her way to the bench, Rachel said “When did you get your haircut?”As Taylor sat down she said “I got it done early today, down on Arcadian Street.” Rachel kind of gave Taylor a funny look, and said “What would make you want to go down there?”She said that as if, going to that area was beneath her.“My mother’s friend just opened up a shop down there.”said Taylor.“Well I guess even the homeless, druggies, and alcoholics need haircuts.”Taylor found that to be offensive and went silent. It used to be a great area to live, but once the factory closed, it went down hill.
There was almost complete silence in the shop for about 10 minutes.Stanford’s police scanner went off at least twice. The silence was broken when JD walked in the shop. When JD violently swung open the door, he said “I’m so glad I don’t have kids of my own.”As he said this, Stanford got up from his barber chair. When he got up from the chair, JD began walking towards Stanford’s barber chair. When he walked past Rachel he nodded, she nodded back.Just before JD sat in the chair, he kissed Taylor on the forehead.JD didn’t have to tell Stanford the cut he wanted.JD had been going to his shop for years, so he knew Stanford just put a red cape over JD’s shoulders and reached for a piece of tissue paper. As he reached for the tissue paper, the scanner went off.The Washington County dispatcher was requesting Officer Davis to investigate a single vehicle crash on Campbell Road just before Buck Valley Creek Road.A passer by reported seeing a flipped over Green Ford Extended Cab with towing equipment in a box.The dispatcher claimed the passer by parked after the S-curve and went back to offer possible assistance or help. When he got there, he saw 2 dead bodies. One white male and one black male.
When Stanford heard this, he flipped off the Cobra band scanner. As he flipped it off, he said “The county needs to do something more to protect drivers from themselves on that stretch of the road.”After Stanford said this “He picked up a piece of tissue and caped him. After he caped JD, he reached for his clippers.JD said “There are plenty of signs warning folks to slow down, and prepare for a sharp curve going into an S-curve.As Taylor sat there on the wooden bench, she started to get scared. She was very concerned that JD was going to se this and thinks his problems were over. There problems would be over if it was Little Al and the black man from earlier. However, it was very unlikely it was them.In her mind, it was more likely that Little Al was still alive, and hot on their trail.
As Stanford began clipping the back of JD’s head, he said “Your grand daddies claim is right after that S-turn isn’t it?”JD responded by saying “That hasn’t been my Grandpa since 1994.”As Stanford started working on the left side of JD, he said “That will always be your Grand Daddies claim, regardless of what family members name is on the deed.”After Stanford said that, the room went almost silent for about 10 minute. The only noise that someone could hear was that Astor 97.
After a few minutes of silence, Stanford said “Did you hear that Craig Carpenter broke your record.” For 4 years JD held a state record this record was retailed to killing the largest buck with a bow and arrow in the state. Before JD could respond to Stanford, Stanford said “The rack measured 187-5/8 inches.”This was 3/8 inch bigger than JD’s buck.“Is that after or before drying?” said JD.As Stanford started putting gel in JD’s hair, Stanford said “As required by the record keeping group, it dried for 60 days then measured and scored by fusion taxidermy shop.” As Stanford began blow drying and combing JD’s hair, JD said “Believe it or not, hunting and fishing records isn’t the most important thing in life.”Taylor was really surprised to hear JD respond in such an adult manner. As Stanford put the blow dryer down on the counter he said, “Oh really!” The two women in the room were excited to hear a man’s perspective.JD responded to Stanford’s statement by saying, “People, money, and then things.” As Stanford picked up the clipper, he said “I think I heard that saying before.” As Stanford began to clip, his wife, Rachel, said “Doesn’t that late night financial counselor say that?” Before JD could respond, Taylor said “We watch that show.” By now, Stanford was mid way done with clipping the top of JD’s hair. Before Stanford and JD could comment, Rachel states “That kind of seems like a waste of electricity.”Taylor and Stanford both gave Rachel a dirty look, once she said that. When she saw this, she got up from her chair and walked in front of JD.When Stanford saw her getting up he knew he was about to have a fight on his hands if he didn’t do something. When she stopped walking, he said “Get the fuck out of my shop.” Rather than responding to him, she started walking for the door. When she made it to the door, she said “Fuck you, and his God damn shop!” She paused and then said “It’s over.I’m done with you and this shop.” After she said this, she walked out the door.
The shop went silent after this.A few minutes later, Stanford finished JD’s haircut. As JD was getting out of the chair, Taylor got up from the bench. When JD got to his feet, he started to reach in his pocket. He was about to pull out his money clip.
When Stanford saw this, he said “Don’t worry about it.” He didn’t have to tell JD this twice. As he was telling JD this, Taylor was making her way to the door.As Taylor was heading to the door, JD was quickly pulling his hand out of his pocket.Rather than saying something to Stanford, JD shook his hand and made his way to the door. When he got to the door, Taylor was standing there holding it open for him. Before he walked out of it, he kissed her on the cheek. As soon as he was on the outside of the shop she followed behind him. Before she walked out, she gave Stanford the finger. When they got outside the shop, they didn’t see Rachel.
When they got outside, Taylor could better see JD’s new haircut.Normally, JD wore his hair in a “regular” flat top. This cut was more of a military high and tight.JD had the military look going on.He was wearing desert camo pants, black boots, and grey t-shirt.
“It’s a littler shorter than normal, but it goes with the theme of your outfit.” said Taylor, as they began to walk towards the car.As JD reached out for Taylor’s had, he said “It’s always kinda hit or miss with this guy.”As they walked hand in hand, JD said “I’m done coming for haircuts.”Taylor wasn’t sure why JD didn’t want to come back. There were more than a few things that happened.Rather then get him worked up, she simply said “You may like 4-chairs hair more than this place.”By now the happy couple, was almost to the mustang.JD didn’t respond to her statement, but said “You wanna drive?”As he said this, he used his free hand to pull the car’s keys out of his pocket.“Of course.” said Taylor. She was excited to have the honor of driving JD’s mustang. This would be the first time she got to drive it.
When they got within feet of the car, they separated their hands.“How can people think were poor, when we have a car like this?” said Taylor..
As soon as JD closed the door, she turned it on.As she waited for JD to get in, she couldn’t believe this way actual going to happen. Her and JD were together 10 years, and in those 10 years she never got to drive his mustang or truck. As she put the car in gear, she started thinking maybe JD changed his way. When she heard the door close, she took her foot off the brake. As the car began to move, JD said “Do you remember the last message we heard on the scanner before the butcher turned it off?” asked JD.She thought this was a knock against her driving skills, so she said “I didn’t ask you to let me drive it.You offered to let me drive.”As she said this, she put her foot on the brake and put it in park.As JD saw this happen, she said “What is wrong with you?”Taylor gave JD a dirty look, and said “You offered to let me drive, and then bring up a speed related accident.”As soon as Taylor finished talking, JD said “Put the car in gear and get us out of here.”As she put the car in gear, JD said “I said something about that accident because Little Al was the passenger in the truck.”As she got to the exit of the parking lot, JD said “The driver was the black guy that was tied to the tree.”As this point, Taylor only knew that a black man tried to steal JD’s truck. She had no idea that anyone had been tied to a tree, so she said “What?”
As she pulled out of the bank parking lot, she got the mustang going, JD said “We tied that clown to a tree down by the river.”Before Taylor could respond, JD said “When we drove up the hill, I saw a 1970’s model Ford pickup truck parked in the upper parking lot.”As Taylor was leaving, she was thinking two things. The first thing that was floating around in her mind was all JD’s hard work on his car was well worth it.It handled and accelerated beautifully.
The other thing floating around in her head was that JD was setup by these long time friends. She thought that kind of was what he was getting at, so she said “Are you trying to tell me, your close friends set you up?”As Taylor began to slow down for the four way stop, she could tell that weight had been reduced in the front end.She could tell this because it wasn’t “nose driving” like most mustangs do.
Rather than commenting on her statement, he said “It handles a lot better than a typical fox body mustang.”She said this after a few minutes pause.Clearly, JD didn’t want to talk about this. They had a 20 minute ride to their next stop so she decided to give in and get the whole story later.
They were heading to Heaven Central. It was a restaurant that specialized in dinners made from Wild Game.Tonight, they were going for the “Invasivore” menu. This menu was made up of meals made with Asian Carp.On the menu were carp cakes, smoked carp streak and Carp Napoleon. The carp were netted on the Illinois River.
“Of course it does!” said Taylor as she comes to a complete stop.As they waited for the other cars to go, JD said “Brian and Little Al weren’t people that were in my inner circle group of people for awhile.”As Taylor slowly drove the car forward, she said, “That happens.”Before JD could say anymore about the topic at hand, she said “I can’t believe how busy this intersection is tonight.”JD looked over at her and said “I’m not.”Before Taylor could say something JD said “The so called “Adventurous Chef” only offers his “Invasivore” dinner twice a year.
When it became her turn to turn JD said “Let them horses sing.”Taylor took this to mean, she’s going faster than 55 mph, if she got the chance. After she made her turn, she put the pedal to the metal. The car took off like a bullet out of a gun. When she did this, she didn’t feel any chasse “Flex or twist” like you feel on most uni-body car under heavy acceleration. She didn’t feel that “twist” because JD installed the best sub frame connectors on this car.In fact, this car pretty much had the best of everything.
The chance to speed, was cut short, by the car in front of them. She only got to go faster than the posted speed limit for about 100 feet. When she started getting dangerously close to the car in front of them, she hit the brakes kind of hard.Rather than comment on this, JD simply said “We should invite my grandmother and Larry to eat with us.”He took a brief pause and then said “Larry pretty much saved the day for us.”Taylor was really focused on her driving, so she just said “That would be a nice thing to do.When I was riding in the van with Little Al and Brian, Little Al’s phone kept going off.He said it was this bitch calling, but I got a good feeling it was that black guy.”Taylor responded by saying “I thought you tied him up.”“Well, technically Brian tied him up.I never checked to see if it was done right because I trusted Brian.”“That was the first mistake, he is a snake in the grass.” said Taylor.“Anyway, I think the nigger was blowing up this phone, hoping Little Al would answer. When he answered, he was going to tell Little Al that the truck was gone.
When Taylor heard this, she took one hand off the wheel, and put it on JD’s hand.“Baby, I’m so glad I didn’t lose you.” Taylor was right, if they found the truck was gone before they got to her house, they would have probably killed. They wouldn’t have made it fast and painless. They would have tortured him to death. There was a long pause, and then JD said, “Invite your mother and lover too.”At this point Taylor was in a state of shock, she was having a hard time dealing with the fact that she was almost lost the love of her life.“I would have to imagine that once Little Al found out the truck was gone, he would have tipped off Brian. When Brian would have found that out, he would run up the stairs and blasted the both of us.This was almost more than Taylor could handle, but she stayed focused on her driving.
The final piece of the puzzle came together, when they were about a mile from the restaurant. It wasn’t the truck they were after, they were after “What was in the truck?”Despite the shop doing poorly, JD put together enough money to get Taylor a ring. She was going to get it tonight.JD was planning on getting all dressed up.He was going to go over to her mother’s house. He wasn’t going to leave the house until Taylor was in the truck leaving with him. They were going to go to the Heaven Concept to eat. When the plate came out, it was going to have the ring sitting on top of the smoked Asian Carp steak with Truffle and Seaweed slaw.JD had this all planned out.He made sure all his “I’s” were dotted and his “T’s” were crossed.
He did make one mistake though. He told the Tim Fellowos, the owner of the restaurant, were he was hiding the ring.JD thought no one would think to look for a ring behind the horn cover of this truck.Once he told Fellowes, he didn’t keep it there anymore. He kept it on him at all times. The mistake may not been telling Fellowes, but telling Fellowes with the office door open.At the time, JD was excited and he wasn’t thinking clearly.Anyone who was working in the kitchen of that place could have possibly heard what was going on.
As they got closer to the restaurant, JD remembered a few years ago, Little Al was a dishwasher at a local restaurant. That had to be the connection that tied this whole thing together.“They were after the truck, honey” said JD as he leaned over.He leaned over so he could pull the ring out of his back pocket.“They were after” JD help up the ring so Taylor could see it.Taylor took her eyes off the road, and got mesmerized by it.Before this act could cause an accident, JD said “Taylor, focus on the road.”As he said this, he put the ring back in his pocket.“You’re just a fuckin carrot dangler. This statement referenced to the Mexican holding a carrot out in front of a mule in order to get it to do what they want it to do.After she saw the ring, her driving got worse.JD was starting to get really upset and “First off, I was going to give you the ring at dinner.”Before JD could say anymore, Taylor “Oh, your so sweet.”She was all over the road as she said that “Pull over, your done.” said JD in a loud tone.As Taylor did this, she said “Baby, I’m trying to keep it straight.”She took a brief pause and then said “My vision just go really blurry.”As JD got out of the car, he opened the door and said “What kind of pills are you on.”As Taylor stumbled out of the car, she said “All I took was my prescribed medication. By now the car behind them stopped, and it was backing up traffic..
When he got back into the car, he looked over at Taylor. It looked like she was fast asleep. She didn't fall asleep, because was tired. Taylor suffered from "panic attacks". JD knew this all to well. That was why he didn't tell her what was going on atthe shop, as soon as he realized there was a problem. She didn't want to get her all worked upover nothing. These "panic attacts" always stated the same way. Her eyes would start getting her problems. That would be founded by feelings of tiredness, and then she would be out like a light. As JD continued to drive, he could remember time, she slept for 12 to 16 hours in a role. Clearly, something new needed to be done. Currently, Taylor's doctor was treating her disorder with Ambien. This really upset JD, because he knew Ambien was a drug used to treat insomnia. JD couldn't figure out how a drug used to treat poeple suffering for insomnia could help Taylor's "panic attacks".
JD's biggest fear was that Taylor would get serious hurt in an parasomnia or amnesia state. He feared this, because Taylor was recently attrested for OWI. She was charged with OWI, despite having no acholic in her system. She was facing a license suspension of 9 mths., $1,000 in fines, and substance abuse counsling. She was facing this, because she didn't honor JD wishes. After JD told her what was going on at the shop, he begged her not to leave. Taylor refused to honor his wishes for her to stay at the apartment. When she went to leave, JD tired to go with her. She left JD no choice, but to call local law in enforcement. A officer stopped her car 3 bloocks from the apartment they shared together. When the officer maded contact with her, it clear that she had already gone into a state of parasomnia. When JD was questioned about what was going on that night, he was straight forward with the officer about everything that been going on for the last mth. or so. That night, Taylor got her first OWI.
As JD made his way to the cabin, he started wondering if all this was worth it. He knew there were more then a few woman intersted in him. JD was convienced that Vollie would be intersted in having more then a one night stand with him. When JD started thing about this, he started enterianing the idea of having a relationship with her.More then once, they talked about taking their relation to the next level. If this was something he was going to do, he needed to do it or just forgett about her. How could he just forgett about, theo. She was a beatiful woman with a great personnality. Despite her only being 18 years old, he thought it could work. It seemed like she understood were he was coming from. The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to go out on a date with her. Had brain and little Al not pulled their scam,, JD would have probadly asked Vollie out on Monday. After the game, he was going to ask April to takes the boys home, and he was going to take Vollie out on their offical "first date".He was about a mile from the lake, when he decided he was going to take Vollie out after the game. As he saw "for Sale" signs for houses he could never afford, we started to think about what she would want to do, on their date. As he drove, he wondered if Vollie had ever been on a date before. It seemed like her brother and sister were her life. She had no life out the family, because her mother worked alot of hours at the chicken factory. The summer was almost over, and JD had still no met or seen their mother at a game or practice.
As JD appoarched the bridge going over the lake, he started to think about all the fun times him and Taylor on this body of water. For 8 years out of 10 year relationship, he had a boat. Soon after Taylor and JD got together, JD got a boat. After doing much research, he ended up get an auminumboat. It was 18 feet bow to stern light. It was a 1957 Featherlight Ranger. It could comfortable seat 5 adults.. The hull had been painted blue, just before JD bought it. It was in pretty good shape, untill Taylor hit another boat with it. She hit a boat that someone intenially sunk in lake. Apparently, a guy named Stacy could no longer afford to storage his boat. When Stacy realized he could no longer afford to keep the boat, he made an online ad to sell it. The boat needed alot of work, but he found someone one to pay him his asking price. Early the next week, the buyer found out how great the $200 boat really was. After finding out how much it was going to cost to fix the boat, the buyer towed it out to the middle of the lake. He drilled 2 small holes in the hull, and exited the boat before it sank.
Soon after JD got across the bridge that divided the lake into 2 sides, he was about to come into the S curves that killed little Al and the black man. Just before you enter the first curve, there is a sign that warns you that you are about to go into a S curve. About 10 feet from that sign is another sign. Thissign let you know how fast you should drive thought this area. The sign had a 15 on it. JD didn't normal pay attentions to these signs, anymore. He had been driving on these roads since he was 13 years old. JD flew thought the curves at a whopping 17 mph. With in minutes of him getting safely though the curves he was at the cabin. The cabin was build just after the war, by the timber company that owned the land surrounding their claim. This cabin, like other 28 on this road, was build to house workers. After the war, there was a high demand for wood. The timber company clear cut about 2,000 arceas of land, in an effect to provide builders the wood they needed to buil all the new homes that were getting constructed. When the timber company was done with the area, they sold these cabins off. JD grandfather, a returning solidier, bought the cabin and 2 arceas for $1,200.
When he JD gotclose to the cabin, he parked the car. There was about 100 foot walkfrom the end of the driveway to the cabin. It wasn't the easiest walk, either. Apparently, Danny had not been up their cutting the in a while. Not only that, but it was real muddy. When JD got to the cabin, he opened opened up the door, and began making his way back to the car. It probadly wasn't the smartest move, as bugs and wild animal could get into the cabin. However, JD didn't have much of a choice. He couldn't carry Taylor and open the door at the same time. At time time, JD was upset with her illness, not her. Even if he was upset with her, he would have her sleeping in the car. Anything could happen to her. It was a rural area infested with all kinds of wild animals, and even wilder poeple. In this mind, there was only one thing he could do. That was going to be to carry her to the cabin. JD got her out of the car, and carried her to the cabin. Once they were in the cabin, JD put her on the futon, that was in the living room. After closing the door, he maded his way to the loft area of the cabin. He wanted to try to take a nap before their visitors arrived.
