Jairo Lopez is a Salvadorian author who devotes his spare time to art, music, literature, painting, philosophy, and architecture. In 2002, he began taking architecture courses at the University of El Salvador, in San Miguel, El Salvador. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he was forced to abandon his chosen profession and immigrated to the United States in 2007. Currently, he lives and works in Washington, DC. He still dreams of becoming an architect but in the meantime is pursuing his career as a visionary artist.
Lopez’s passion has already resulted in two recorded albums of romantic music. In addition, he has published two previous books, Cultural Adventure: A Nostalgic Walk inside Salvadoran Rural Culture (only Spanish version), an autobiographic account of his early childhood in his native land; and Invisible Future: Imperceptible Disappearance of Human Nature (only Spanish version), an apocalyptic fiction novel depicting humanity’s technological self-destruction.
Odyssey of a Testosterone continues Lopez’s concern with the emerging psychological pressures and existential dilemmas arising out of the intersection of religion, culture, and gender in today’s increasingly globalized world.
