Hello (very unoriginal start I know, apologies!)
This is all very new to me so forgive the naiveity of what I am writing both here and in the near future. Haven't written properly since my fast fading school days but enjoyed every minute of doing so.
As this is a bio I should really start from the beginning and say that I have been writing since well since I could write really. I have always had an active imagination as loads of children do, making up varying ways I managed to save the world that day and took great pleasure in telling people so.
School actively encouraged creative writing and up until I left school, story telling and creating was something I both enjoyed and seemed to do quite well academically.
After leaving school, priorities changed and the world of work beckoned so writing unfortunately took a back seat, but enjoyed reading immensely. However after a friend recommended this site, it has reignited my enthusiasm to start writing again and hopefully gain much help and many tips along the way.
As with all unused skills, i will be rather more than rusty so the more help and constructive critism will be most welcome.
I would really like to hear how people here either started writing or the inspiration that keeps them going, personally I like setting the scene for people, telling them a story in a way that engages their imagination and "takes the trip" as well. You can always tell a well told story from a bad one as the good ones stay in your memory and are always right there years later if you want to retrieve them.
Can you remember a bad story someone told you five or more years ago?
Thought not!
