"Bipolar Diaries," written by Juliette Jazz, chronicle the author's enormous challenge of managing the insidious symptoms and effects of bi-polar disorder. Having suffered through several years of alternate phases of mania and deep depression, Ms. Jazz engaged in several destructive behaviours that nearly cost her marriage, friends, and family. For a large portion of her life, the author assumed her difficulties and poor decisions were the result of a lack of character and being a "bad" person at her core. However, once she discovered the root cause of her often inexplicable actions, she bravely embarked upon a course of therapy underthe guidance of a caring, highly effective mental health professional who has provided the author with an entirely new perspective and lease on life.
Composed primarily in a conversational narrative, the text flows at a brisk tempo that should maintain the reader's interest throughout. Ms. Jazz's willingness to share the most intimate and painful aspects of her life in an open and frank manner could serve to forge a solid bond with the reader. Well organised in presentation and succinct in content, the offering appears to be an accurate reflection of the author's harrowing existence.
Juliette Jazz's ability to convey her struggles while enlightening the reader to the various aspects of bi-polar disorder could provide inspiration to others in a similar situation.
