Love writing? Love contests? Want more people to see and comment on your work? You've come to the right place! I will be holding weekly Booksie contests for all you wonderful and talented Booksians out there with some great prize packages [see below] for winners! Everyone is welcome to join any of our contests and is encouraged to spread the word to all of their friends, fans and connections. Good luck, Booksians!
Poetry: "Guess Who"
This weeks contest asks entrants to describe an unknown character in their poetry. Bonus points if myself, and other Booksians who may comment, can guess who you are portraying! Can be written in a first person point-of-view or from a narrator's standpoint. Please link all entries in a comment on the post "Poetry Contest: Guess Who". Thankyou and good luck, Booksians!
Contest closes July 19.
Short Story: "Famous Last Words"
This weeks contest asks entrants to include famous last words in their short stories. This quote is not required to be spoken. Theme, genre and rating are entirely up to the author! Please link all entries in a comment on the post "Short Story Contest: Famous Last Words". Thankyou and good luck, Booksians!
Contest closes July 19.
Contest closes April 30th.
How to Enter Contests
To enter any of LetsGetReading's contests, comment on the contests article with a link to your entry. It's simple! Entry comment forms should be as follows [copy, complete, and comment]:
How Many Times to Enter
Entrants are allowed one entry per contest, and one comment per entry, but can join as many of LetsGetReading's contests as they please!
Content may be of any genre, any rating, and any length unless detailed otherwise in the specific contest you are entering. Please have these details in your entry, though.
To keep my contests fair, I give a score from 1 to 5 in the following categories for each entry. Afterwards, I add the three scores together to get a final judging, which is the number that your entry competes with. For example, if I scored your content a 4, your grammar/punctuation a 5, and your use of/relativity to the contest theme a 3, your final judging score would be a 12. If two people score the same, my bias kicks in and I choose the one I personally enjoyed more.
Was your entry enjoyable to read? Does it keep the readers attention? Is it unique? Did you add your own twist? Did your entry have good pacing and a nice flow of words?
By Grammar and Punctuation
Did your entry follow the contest theme and/or rules? Have you used the topic, theme or word provided? How creatively did you include and use this theme, topic or word?
