A poem regarding the grateful mindset we should all acquire.

Somewhere, possibly abroad, but more likely not far down the street, someone is hungry. You’ve heard this statement possibly thousands of times, but the average individual has no true understanding of the meaning. All around the world, there are those who Hunger, not only for superficial things, like Food, or Water, but for something more; something deeper. What they hunger for, is care. They desire to know that even in the midst of great calamity, of chaos, and oftentimes war, that someone, somewhere, cares. As a missionary, that will be my privilege.

At the same time, this walks hand in hand with my Career, and my calling, To Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, By Ministry, By Caring for those who haven’t the Chance to care for themselves, and by placing myself below those who I will be tasked with caring for. My Mission field will be located in the largely unexplored, un-urbanized central African Continent. My Parents, However, are averse to this idea, due to the growing volatility of the East, and of the “Lack of Financial Support.” Of a job in Mission work, my thoughts on this are Found in Philippians 1:12, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to Die is Gain.” Personally, I would lay down my life in the Service of those who desperately need it.

The Steps I plan to take are as follows: To attend one of two Universities, [The University of Mobile; Mobile, AL] or [Southeastern University; Lakeland, FL], The former of which I have already been accepted to, then From receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Studies, Minoring in either a foreign Language or Theology, I will go on to pursue my career, primarily through the Assemblies of God World Missions association, Which sponsors and sends Missionaries abroad.
