I started really focusing on my writing when my father moved to Arizona with my step-mother in April of 2006. I now live with my mom full time in Michigan. I had a hard time adjusting to the change. It's pathetic to know that my first heart break was over my father. In 2008 my friend Cait was telling me about this book called "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. Vampires, I thought, No way!
Well, at that time, I was hooked into novels by Ellen Hopkins. Particularly, "Crank" and "Burned". I found her characters extremely able to relate to. Especially, Kristina "Bree" in "Crank". At the time, I'd just finished Burned and decided that I didn't want the thrill that reading gave me to stop. I was itching for something new to read, for a new adventure.
That new adventure turned out to be "Twilight". Cait had given my mom the book telling her to read it since she would be busy with Volley-ball. My mom gave "Twilight" to me and then I couldn't stop- I read Twilight in a day. I didn't move to eat or get a drink.
It all fell into place from there. Now, I am rarely seen without a book, or my laptop. I'm usually reading, or writing. Sometimes, my family gets annoyed by it, but they know that reading and writing saved me. They gave me something to think about other then the abandonment of my father. I have to admit that I've fallen in love with literature.
My favorite part about writing is creating the characters. I try my hardest to make them real, down to earth people- no matter the situation- that hopefully everyone can find something to relate to. I'm also working harder to put more action into my writings.
I love constructive criticism, however, I've found that there is a huge difference between some one being rude, and someone trying to help. I appreciate the help, and praise!
My dream is to, one day, have a New York Time's best-selling novel... and, maybe, have a novel created into a movie, or TV series. (I'm not picky XD)
Thank you all for your support!
