Singing Winds

Katy Breyer is an orphaned girl in her late teens who is sent to live with her uncle. There she meets Jesse, a Maidu Indian boy adopted by her uncle several years earlier. As romance blossoms between them, Jesse is called by God to find his people to tell them the message of salvation. Katy finds that adjusting to her new life in the Maidu village is difficult, especially when she meets resistance with Jesse's cousin, Red Horse.
