Centuries ago, Native American tribes spread across most of North America. Each of the tribes has a talent – some can speak to animals; others are very knowledgeable. Each tribe keeps their talent secret from other tribes.

In current Midwest United States, tension is high between the Yakima and Cayuse tribes. Aiyana is a layperson of the Yakima tribe, laboring in cleaning and hunting, cooking and serving. In her spare time, she roams through the forests and studies the land – she is very intelligent, her tribe’s talent. One night, she is attacked and mauled by an animal and left for dead...

Her life begins.
