London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games

The Olympics and Paralympic games are major sporting events that happens every 4 years.(Not including the winter Olympics)In 2008 the Olympics were held in Beijing and 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver but next year the Olympics would be held in the UK, which includes Scotland, wales, Ireland and London. The event would be sponsored by many types of charities, food companies and lottery funded. It would be a massive event that no-one would wish to miss. Ticket prices start from £20 to £2000 depending on how long you delay it. There are many 2012 Olympic items on sale like the 2011 Olympic 50 pence coin; There are twelve different coins each displaying a sport played. The Paralympics are held two weeks after the Olympics.

There are many people with disabilities. In lots of sports those with disabilities cannot play. The Paralympics changes that. It enables those who otherwise couldn’t play to play. The games are slightly altered to the players suitability. People with cerebral palsy, amputations, blindness, walking disabilities, and others can play in the Paralympics. There are 20 Paralympic games. Paralympic archery, Paralympic athletics, Boccia, Paralympic Cycling road-track, Paralympic Equestrian, football 5 a side and 7 a side, goal ball, Paralympics judo, Power lifting, Paralympic rowing, Paralympic sailing, Paralympic shooting, Paralympic swimming, Paralympic table tennis, Volley ball sitting, Wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.

Before the medal format there is now, there medals were pure gold. But later they changed it to sliver plated gold. Now every gold medal has at least 6 grams of pure gold.
