Once upon a time, not so very long ago, in a place not so very far away...

An urban jungle in the metropolis of the L.A. metropolitan area, a mid-sized corporate controlled, money centered universe where all of the decisions were made by those with the money, for those who made the decisions, by the very few who controlled the decisions that got made; existed a community of predominantly hispanic families...

A community called Orange County, at the very heart of that community, in it's very County Seat, lies a City...

A nice, important, yet insignificant city, known by the name of Santa Ana, it's a pretty well known city with Museums, historic landmarks, a well publicized City Zoo, which because of it's vast selection of primates as well as the other animals, rivals some of the best zoos anywhere, a Public Library, and also many other attractions.

This is a city which houses more people than a few land masses, some countries, many states & provinces, lots of counties, & tons of little towns, & villas, & a place which has neighbors all around it with reputations of their own...

A county with a place called Anaheim, a home to the "Happiest place on Earth", known as Disneyland...

Also, that same county is home to a place called Buena Park, with a reputation in it's own right, since it happens to be the home of a fairly well known park of it's own;

Knott's Berry Farm, and it's nearby close companion, the Movieland Wax Museum, the County also has a Richard Nixon Library, in the City of Yorba Linda, also four professional sports teams, many semi-professional teams, as well as lots of other sports, entertainment venues & other activities to make it's local residents stay busy in their daily routines, with a pretty strong, close-knit community in it's own way, yet a community in which no-one really cares very much about his or her neighbor...

Not because they don't care for each other, or even, for that matter, that they have hard hearts or anything like that, it's just that the daily grind of the monotinous life they live keeps them so busy that they just don't know what to do...

Other than the daily hum-drum, day-to-day, lack-luster, "Just-Over-Broke" = (JOB);

Amallady that the majority of them have, they have small joys, they turn on their television sets, they watch their shows & movies as they try to escape the routine boredom they live on a daily basis & pretend to know what's going to happen in the coming weeks, months & years of this "Good life" that they've chosen to continue to subject themselves to as they rush through their lives like a runaway train... Every once in awhile, there'll be some non-conformist that ends up being somehow different...

Not that he, or she really chooses to be different, it's just that somehow they are, they think differently & then at some point in time, & in some circumstances, the other people, the "Normal" ones, will notice that this one person is not like them, these special people will then be treated like they are less than everyone else...

They'll be laughed at, fought with, picked on, & because they're "Strange", and they are very "Kooky" & "Wierd", the world will treat them differently also, they'll call the person names when they're young, they'll call them freaks in school, they'll beat them up, throw things at them, and make fun of their failings...

But, with some of those crazy people, a phenomenon will occur, & a decision will be made...

At that time, after being the brunt of all the jokes, abuse, mistreatments, & struggles, one or two of these per hundred or so "Regular" people, a person will rise from it all with an attitude...

A crazy attitude...

Can we, any of us, live to be such a man (Or woman)?

Author Comment: This particular one is a little bit of an autobiography of a sort... Gives you a fairly decent look into my youth, with some tweaks for literary purposes, I'm sure you understand...

Really liked it alot, its such a true reflection of the current political situation in my country. voices of decent or opposition are lauged at and derided as trite or right wing. Hopefully sanity will prevail. Posted: Jun 16, 2014

Author Comment: Glad you liked this one... I'm not sure it's anywhere near my best, yet it is poignantly close to my life story, so maybe that thread that makes it powerful in the minds of some people.
