Extended Version Spirit & Sea Man

Poem By: Classy Peach
Literary Fiction

This is the extended story as I just couldn’t leave it alone…so here is the ending in case you wondered. I entered a challenge for writers to produce a poem with 5 words that are provided. These are the 5 words he provided to me: System, Opaque, Metal, Banana and Euphoria. Take your time healing. View table of contents...

Spirit whispered,
“Share my language,
Sea Man”

As he sailed towards
the lethal vipers of
the Sahara,
his mind was opaque to
the soft lens of Spirit.
Spoken heard
unspoken not

Spirit wept,
featuring occasional nudity
pampering her womb in the cosmos,
Sea Man milled it like metal
unspoken heard
spoken not
Sea Man was deeply,
madly, crazily
for the Sahara.

Spirit shifted the peel
of the banana
Sea Man slightly stumbling
adjudicator to
his narcissistic system
Sea Man glided home
Spirit grayed to black
there was no euphoria.

Part II
Spirit crawled,
“Share my language,
Sister”

Cheek sewn to the soil
softly slamming her sight
her heart was transparent to
the soft lens of Earth.
frailty seen
healing not

Spirit surrendered,
featuring occasional nudity
pampering her in cosmic womb,
Earth held her close while cosset
Healing seen
frailty not
Earth was deeply,
madly, crazily
for Spirit.

Earth shifted the peel
of the banana
Spirit slightly stumbling
adjudicator to
her lonely child
Sand Man tranquil on the horizon
Spirit stayed in black
her toes covered in dirt
there was no euphoria

Part III
Spirit slept,
“Share my language,
Sand Man”

As he climbed towards
the cerebral cliff of
an Atlas mountain,
his heart was transparent to
the soft lens of Spirit.
Sleeping seen
slumber not

Spirit searched,
featuring occasional nudity
pampering her womb in the cosmos,
Sand Man gild it like weathered quartz
slumber seen
sleeping not
Sand Man was deeply,
madly, crazily
for Spirit.

Spirit shifted the peel
of the banana
Sand Man slightly stumbling
liberating
a language traveling
time, distance and can be spoken
or unspoken. It had become theirs.
Sand Man ascended with her home
Spirit awoke to zenith
Euphoria.

Aw, and so the story continues. I love this extended version Classy, I see Spirit as the main character, falling in love then heart broken, then comes Earth, and ironically performing the same actions at Spirit. This to me suggest Earth has fallen for Spirit, or feel for Spirit as Spirit has the Sea Man. Then comes Sand Man, a character I can't place yet? Bringing back Euphoria! I like Earth best, she was a healer in this story. There are other things that jump out at me, slumber seen, sleeping not - Spirit is still heart broken.

Ah, I could go on but I don't want to pain you as I could be SO wrong! LOL So I will stop there and say, stunning as always Classy, and now I shall read it again! :) ~ Nixie

You never pain me.
Thanks so much for sharing.
muah!
(aaaak...i feel mushy all of a sudden)

Yes, it seems like someone searching for their one true love and along the way meeting with ALL the wrong people. Until she finds sand man, the perfect one for her. I like the use of the elements as metaphors for so many other things!

Metaphors are my dice. Sometimes they roll, other times not. It's so nice to hear from you Emily! And thanks for reading too!

Every time I read your stuff, I go into a trance. Sweet!

Hey AQ...you make my ego swell. How will I ever fit my big head out of this room? I go into a trance when that happens.

Thank you though.

back at ya...

I read this yesterday. I've found that sometimes I like your work to simmer a little in the pot. I loved this part "Sand Man was deeply, madly, crazily
for Spirit." It rang with me in the fisrt part and its still ringing now. It must be nice to have someone be all about you. You do good work woman! I just love to bask in your brilliance.

I'm actually speechless with your litany for me.
Maybe you are insane and don't know what you are talking about.

Your poetry is in another world, a mystical, beautiful, spiritual, strange world. Sort of transcends the "ordinary" and whisks us away. Someone said "entrancing" - I agree!

You've just helped me leap from bitter to better. Bitter has been surfacing lately and you are showing me to focus on the sand and not the sea. Man. Bitterness does not deserve any attention.

I just had tight euphoria with your comments to me in the last couple days. I've been focusing on the wrong thing.

You are so correct and thank you for what ever it is you say that I end up seeing the better light. Not the bitter light.

You deserve a hug.

i loved the way the word 'banana' is used elegantly....pure.
