In a dream i once had
I saw a child hugging his dad
But when night came
a person in the shadows lurked.
In the creatures mind whispers the fathers name
And it walked as closer it could get.
The father kissed his son goodnight
And the creature was invisible too the moonlight
And yet it didn’t make a single noise
The father walked in the hallway
And the creature appeared in the way.
Dashing his sword to kill the creature tried
The father blocked it yet he tripped
The creature in midsection puts the sword high
And the father grabbed the candle light
And burned its robe.
As the creature took it off, the man saw death
But he stood up and fought with hope
But death had taken his last breaths.
When everything seemed over for death, it spoke
You, the man, the unperfected image, you dope
There’s something I must tell you before
You strike me with your sword.
The father watched
You are an excuse, you make me sad
No matter if you can’t get this in your head
You’ll still wind up dead
The father saw and killed
As death vanished
The man cried, for deaths words were true
And no matter what he do
He can’t cheat death.
The real question is who was the father?
You? me? Or God?
We can’t kill death, only he can... our father...
