Mixing a little bit of sugar in it, I take a sip of the coffee in my hands. It isn't nearly as good as the coffee in the house, but at least it keeps me awake. I don't know if I'll see him again after this, so I have to remember every detail of his face, that way he'll be with me when I close my eyes. That way I won't feel so alone.
I grab the second cup from the counter in the train station's coffee shop, and taking it to where he is sitting, waiting for the train to arrive, I sit at his side.
"Here you go" I say, handing him the coffee.
"Thanks, babe" He moves his eyes from the schedule in his lap and stares at me while his mouth flashes me a smile.
I make a mental list of his features. Brown eyes, big brows and long lashes, shiny brown hair, small nose, medium mouth and a prominent jaw line. Overall, a very handsome men, and luckily for me, my fiancée.
"You know I love you…" Damian starts to say deeply but I don't want to hear this.
"No, please stop. Don't say anything, okay? We already said our goodbye yesterday and I can't bear it another time. We'll sit here, and once your train arrive, you'll go without saying anything, that's what I need." I interrupt him pretending to be strong, but secretly holding back tears.
He nods without saying a word, and I can see the pain emitted through his eyes. I know this is hard for him too, I just don't get how could he join the army without bothering to think about anything else than his honor and patriotism. Yesterday I was destroyed that he was leaving, but honestly, I'm mad today. Mad because he prefers to go than stay with me.
I take the book I brought out of my bag and concentrate on reading, hoping it would calm my nerves, while I see Damian going through his schedule from the corner of my eye. We spend the next couple of minutes like this, distant to avoid a public break down, until a male voice makes itself listened, asking the passengers about to board the train 512 to pass to the boarding gate.
That's his train.
Just like I asked, he doesn't say another word, just leaves a warm kiss on my cheek that I wish would be longer. Unable to stop myself, I raise my eyes in an attempt to see his one more time, but he already has his back at me.
"Wait!" I scream hurtfully.
He turns and shows me a kind smile. My love.
"What is it?" Damian asks.
"You shouldn't have broken my heart yesterday when you said you were leaving" I say as I take the metal mortal artifact hidden in my bra and shot him right in the chest, just here his heart must be.
His eyes widen as he falls abruptly to the floor and his body is surrounded by a pool of blood. Everybody's looking at me, guess the guards weren't very smart to let me in without inspection when the metal sensors in the entrance activated and I said it was just my bra.
I know I'm probably going to jail for this, but I would rather go there than have my fiancée chose war over me. They'll have to understand I did this for love, he was going to make a mistake and I just had to stop him.
Love conquers all, even life.
