She was thoroughly enjoying her stroll when a man lying prone on the roadside caught her attention. Fearing the worst, she turned the limp figure over. Her heart leapt a mile when she saw the man's face. A sudden air of uneasiness swept passed her memory unlocking all the unpleasant secrets which she was hiding from herself. This can't be true, she tried to assure her panic stricken senses which were lost in its absurdity. Her expressions were restless and her body movements were impatient, she wanted to act but didn't and without reacting any further she left the place leaving that miserable figure lying unconscious on the road.

She called her office and took a day off, her husband who was observing a sudden change in her behavior since morning looked riddled and before leaving the office in a concerning tone asked, "Honey, you ok?", she glanced at him and nodded her head but he knew that the acknowledgment was a sham and there was something more serious which was concerning her, he very gently took her in the bedroom and asked her to relax; he put her head on his shoulder and in a polite tone asked, " Sneha, share it, you will feel better".

She in a sobbing tone replied: "Yesterday night; I had a dream, I saw a man who I didn't know and have never met asking me for help, he looked in his mid 30's and looked in pain and today while I was taking my morning walk; I saw the same man lying around the roadside badly wrapped in poverty and pain. I don't know who is he? What does he want? Or what does that dream wanted to convey".

Her husband was little baffled and surprised on this weird confession of his wife in their marriage of 4 years this was the strangest thing she had told him and without arguing her with logic he asked her to take rest and promised her to do something about it. He left for the office but she remained in her dream; she was getting restless and wanted an instant answer to her questions she searched over Internet to find about dreams but wasn't convinced with any explanation. She consulted her psychiatrist friend but her suggestion that she might have mistaken that man for someone else was unacceptable to her doubt filled mind.

In evening when her husband returned he wasn't welcomed with the cheerfulness with which he was generally greeted and he understood the cause, he tried hard to explain her with his understanding but she remained adamant that her dream had some hidden meaning to it; the discussion was long and directionless and finally after a while when he realized that conversation wasn't going anywhere he convinced her to sleep but it wasn't for long, as he was woken up by a frightened cry of his wife. "What happened?" He asked, worried. "I saw him again, he was there, and he was asking for help…please Anil, we need to help him". She said in a tone which was frightened and convincing, the thought of seeing a consultant or a psychiatrist was swept in tears and next morning they both went to the same spot looking for that grief stricken men but he wasn't there. They searched hard for him but to no avail, tired and upset; Anil packed his stuff to go for the work while Sneha decided to stay and search more.

He was getting irritated with the events of few days but kept his thoughts to himself. He reached office late and straight away started with the team meeting; while she kept chasing her nightmare, she didn't went home and enquired locals on the same spot about the mysteries man, she came to know that the man she saw lying on the road, was a middle class man who lost everything in family dispute and had no money left to get himself operated for a heart disease that is why he was slowly consuming himself to slow torturous death.

His unfortunate story broke her heart, she was religious and thought that she might have some karmic relationship with that man, but her husband who was earning well was too strict on finances, but she wanted to help the man at any cost. She called her husband, who already was getting agitated and narrated him the sad story, not convinced just to please her wife he called up the manager and asked him to deposit Rs 56,000 in her account, the sudden availability of cash tossed up another possibility.

Her husband loved her but was very strict and never let her money on lavishness which she thought she deserved with availability of this cash she could easily purchase a diamond set which she dearly cherished. Her mind was confused, whether to find and help the man she had never met and wasn't sure, or to satisfy her long craving for munificent gems. The logics explained by her friend and her husband started echoing loud in her head, but her religious thoughts and mysterious visions of the man kept her engaged in the maze of aridity. After a long discussion her mind was made up and decision was finalized.

At 6 Pm in the evening, husband received intimation from the bank that the money was withdrawn, though he wasn't happy with that but understood the emotional side of his wife. When he returned home; he was greeted to a broken smile. She ran towards him and hugged him tight. "Thank you, Anil". He remained quite and kissed her on the forehead and went in the washroom to take an evening shower, while she quietly went inside her bedroom and retired on the bed without looking in the mirror.
