The night is lit by a sudden bolt of lightning followed by a quick heart wrenching roar of thunder. The lightning lights up the sky as if it's suddenly become day and then is quickly swallowed and consumed till all that's left is complete darkness. The thunder rumbles and bellows overhead like a drunkard's angry bellows that seems to echo on forever without ever coming to an end. I shrink away from the frightening sound that has always haunted me and made me quiver.

The waves crash upon the nearby shore like two armies crashing one upon the other and yelling their terrible bloody battle cries. A terrifying yet gloriously majestic sound that both frightens me away and calls me ever closer. I wish I could escape to somewhere warm and safe but the undeniable truth is that I'm stuck on the stern of my captians ship drenched all the way to the deepest part of my soul and holding on for dear life. I feel weak and I know without moving that my limbs are beaten and numb. I want to just lay down in a tiny ball and sleep for a month, but if I do I know without a doubt that I'll be swept overboard to my final resting place.

My eye sight grows dim and everything is slowly becoming cloudy, I see images of my loved ones and of my future dreams. I am tired now, but just before I close my eyes I realize I'm surrounded by the cold water of the sea and am no longer on my boat. I must have let go of the rope and been pulled over. But it does not matter now I have lost the battle of life but do not weap for me for now I am finally free. I no longer have to struggle through the day, now I can finally have my rest.
