John was the youngest man living at the Goodness Gracious independent living facility in Chula Vista, California. John was originally living in the main house with two other roommates, David and Dorian. The management decided after many pleas from John to move him to the studio so he could be around some quieter people. Well, Dorian moved in with him and so did Arturo, who was a paranoid schizophrenic. One day John went to an Al Anon meeting and while he was gone his medications were stolen. He accused Arturo right away. John thought that Arturo was having a schizo-fantasy and that his voices told him to take the medications. Arturo strongly denied that he had taken the medications. That is untill one morning about four days after the medications were stolen, Arturo confessed to John. Wow, wow, wow, boy oh boy was John angry. He was really pissed off. He did the most logical thing he could do at the time, which was to call the police. After the police were called, John called Eugenia the owner and manager of the Goodness Gracious independent living. She told John that he had called the police so he was going to need to find another place to live. John could not believe it. He was the most independent person in the house. When the police arrived they talked to both Arturo and John. After that was done, Officer McKillip talked with Eugenia. Eugenia told the officer that the reason John was getting evicted was beacuse he said: "I cannot live with Mexicans." When John heard this he could not believe it. John would never say anything radical or racial. When the police left John called Eugenia wondering why she had said that. When Eugenia answered the phone, John said, "Why am I being evicted?" "You can't keep control of your medications, and you need to go to a board and care." Responded Eugenia. John could not believe it. He was the most independent person in the house, and his medications were STOLEN! He could not believe this was happening. He told Eugenia that she was a low, low person and then they both hung up the phone at the same time. Eugenia called back a short time later and told John that he could stay in the house. All was well!
