I used to love writing as kid, and all the way through High School. However college took me in a different direction, and degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics didn’t leave me much time to write for fun.
Fifteen years in the Computer business did not offer too many opportunities either, unless you consider I wrote a wide variety of technical papers. I suppose technically speaking I’m a published author, but a book called “Patterns: Implementing Self-Service in an SOA Environment” is not exactly something you’d bring to the beach for a nice summer read (if you do, you have my pity).
A few years back, I tried a Creative Writing night class at a local Community College as a change of pace. Much to my surprise, people actually liked what I wrote, which I must say was quite a rush. I won’t be quitting my day job any time soon, but I thoroughly I enjoyed escaping out of my scientific existence, and jumping into a world of fantasy and romance. In fact, if I have a primary style, that would be it: Romantic Fantasy. I enjoy a good Fantasy and Sci-fi book, but I’m also a sucker for a good romantic movie, so my stories naturally veered in that direction.
I’ve only written a couple short stories, and one novella to date. Not exactly a robust portfolio. However if people enjoy it, I’ll try to get back to it. I can use the motivation, and I’m not ready to go back to the Community College.
Hope you’ll take the time to read one of stories. Thanks!
