Max Flynn was found on the doorstep of a Tibetan Monastry when he was ten days old.

His parentage and ancestory remained a mystery for many years.

He was trained in the ancient combat arts by the mysterious order of monks, who never spoke, and only communicated by gestures.

It has been alleged that some of his more arcane teachings involved levitation and mind reading.

At the age of five he was required to traverse the "corridor of death", wherein he had to fight for his life against the 108 mechanical dummies, each armed with a different weapon and activated by bodyweight. He graduated a warrior and set out to journey the world.

A few months later, he encountered his real parents in the jungles of Africa. They had been killed by lions. He defeated the head lion, and took command of the pride. Familiarizing himself with the ways of the beasts, he soon learned to command the denizons of the animal kingdom, and later, under the tutelage of a mystical megalodon shark he befriended, he was awarded the title, "Lord of all the creatures of the sea," by the League of Sharks.

Max Flynn has never sought any of the mundane pursuits that satisfy lesser men, prefering a nomadic life of adventure, seduction, and scallywag behaviour.
