Elisabeth Claira Heath Sladen (1 February 1948-19 April 2011) was an English actress best know for her role as Sarah Jane smith in the British television series doctor who. She has appeared as doctor who’s assistant since 1973 and 1976 opposite Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. She then appeared in a four series from 2007 in the Sarah Jane adventures named after her character in Doctor Who. Sladen have been battling caner for a while leaving husband/actor Brian miller and daughter Sadie. She died at the age of 63.
