I'm currently in a play called Punk Rock which is set in manchester... I play a young troubled teen called William... I will spoil what happens by the way. The play itself follows a group of students doing their a levels and the stress they endure the twist is it ends tragically... not in the fact that they all fail... more because out of seven only three are alive at the end. The play was made to raise awareness for high school shootings. William comes into a school and kills his class mates. The play doesn't go into his family life. As the actor I've been studying him I also have a friend doing the same play and part and we both have our own ideas. I feel William is Schizophrenic but with no idea he is and that his stress builds up to him having an episode and due to the bullying and mistreatment and his misunderstanding of life he cuts all ties of empathy with life. Where as my friend is portraying him as a weirdo who played to many video games and became violent not understanding life properly. I am tempted to write a short story from the point of view of someone who will commit a high school shooting... A REALLY SENSITIVE subject but not because I feel "OH What a story!" No because I don't want to just focus on why people do this... I want to focus on what we can do to stop it! Why we shouldn't bully or mistreat people! And Why God why do people who commit these attrocities not think of the people left behind to mourn!
