I gave you

A walking stick

To bud for you in the desert

Sands,

When you are alone,

To show that I am at the trail's end.

I gave you

A compass to follow, a

Compass that guided me
Too.

I gave you
A camel and food

To carry you through the
Miles of
My

Pursuit.

And I will give

A companion, too,

To help you search the maps
Of he who went before and
Found the route to the shore
On which I live.

So tie your sandals and
Bind your belt,
My wonderfully arrogant Fool;

Soon it will be time for you to search--

And

Die.
