I stayed away from here for so long--
But now
I'm
Back.

I kept the creatures at bay--
But I'm back to the well they dug
For me,
To drink deep of
This fetid water which
Stops my senses and
Lets me forget
That I am

Dead.

I held the cravings at arms' length--
But now
The cracks left
By old drops and breaks
Have split again
And
I cannot get myself to
Work
Or function even
As I did before.
I need what I have
Denied
Myself for so long
(Nearly a month now,
Or maybe two weeks;
I can't remember
Anymore)
I
Need it, my
Darling, my
Precious, my
Prince.

Don't weep at me,
Please.

I managed to stay away for a very long time--
Is it such a bad thing
That
I can't keep that up for
Anymore?
