"Well it's about fucking time!" Saxony yelled at Lourdes from across the Airport parking lot.
"Sorry I'm late! An hour and a half flight took almost 4 hours! Flight delay. Then luggage and returning phone calls. But I missed you and I can't believe I'm here!" Lourdes dropped her bags and jump on her friend that she hadn't seen, in a very, very long time. She had just touched down in Los Angeles and her first priority was the girl she hadn't seen in almost a year.
"Only for you, would I wait hour after hour at LAX!" Saxony said after they pulled away from their embrace.
"I know, much love babes!" Lourdes smiled. Saxony had no patience for tardiness or waiting. Like most people in LA. But Lourdes adored her all the same.
"I'm working on my third cup from Starbucks, I'm about to take flight myself."
Lourdes laughed as she gave her one more hug.
Saxony was a veteran friend of Lourdes'. What Albear would call a v.i.p. friend. A decade strong, which was rare for California friendships, even rarer for LA friendships and even though she no longer lived in The Bay Area, they still remained quite close.
"Look at you!" Lourdes said, playing with her shoulder length brown hair. "You cut your hair!"
"I know, I hate it, but I needed a change." Saxony smiled, brown eyes flickering through her red framed glasses. "Let's blow this pop stand, don't want to stay another minute."
"Yes please." Lourdes said, throwing her bags in the trunk of Saxony's car.
"So, how's it going?" Lourdes asked once they were on the road.
"As if you don't already know." She said. "I'm pretty sure we spoke at least four times yesterday."
"I know, I know," Lourdes sang, "I just thought I might have missed something."
"You mean, I might have missed something." She replied. "What's new in the adventures of Lourdes?"
Lourdes grinned. Saxony was very much up to date on her private life.
"Anyway," she went on, "you missed nothing but another fabulous day at work." Same old story." She said sarcastically.
Lourdes nodded her head and looked over her shoulder at Saxony's massage table in the back seat. They officially met back in Lourdes' hotel and spa days. Saxony was one of the most gifted holistic healers working at the Claremont Resort & Spa and she and Lourdes were bonded for life the day they decided to jump out of a plane, fifteen thousand feet up in the air, over Monterey Bay. As for present circumstances, Lourdes wasn't quite sure you could get her to ever Sky Dive again, but on that day, they were fearless.
But time had passed and Saxony was now a rock star in LA. Massage therapist to the stars, a very busy schedule, but of course, she always made time for Lourdes. Never hurt to have fabulous friends.
"You realize, only for your hands, would I fly to So Cal to get body work." Lourdes said, still trying to charm her, to make up for being late.
"I'm not so sure about that." Saxony smiled taking her eyes off the road for a moment, to glance at Lourdes, tiny brown freckles catching the light. "I bet a certain somebody, may be responsible for you showing up two months early."
"What ever do you mean?" Lourdes asked innocently, stalling for time.
"Well, I seem to see you at least once a year around March-"
"But I plan on being dead before my 30th birthday this year." Lourdes interrupted.
"And here you are, in January, two months early, just to see little 'ole me? I'm calling bullshit."
Lourdes laughed. Saxony may have been the only person fully informed and up to date on Lourdes' love life. She probably knew even more than Albear. Well, except maybe for the latest thing with Lolita....
"I just really needed a break from the grind at home, ya' know?" Lourdes offered.
"Uh, no I don't know!" Saxony laughed. "What? Catering fabulous parties during the day, and partying all night becoming too much for you?"
"It's more tedious than it sounds." Lourdes offered. "And very hard to stay boy ready 24/7."
"Hold your breath while I feel sorry for you." Saxony cracked.
Lourdes laughed. "No really. I'm freaking. I don't know if I could go a second longer without seeing you. You're my touchstone, you know?"
"What exactly did you do?" Saxony asked curiously.
"What do you mean?" Lourdes asked.
"I mean, what exactly did you do back at home, that has you escaping to LA to be with me?"
Lourdes sighed loudly. "Don't I get more credit than that? Couldn't it just be as simple as I wanted to see you?"
"Yeah sure," Saxony paused, "but I bet it's not the only reason."
Lourdes was silent. She was right. It wasn't the only reason.
"Pretty hard to bullshit somebody you talk to seven days a week 365 days out of the year." Saxony sang.
Lourdes looked down at her hands and grinned. Having real friends was much better than a therapist any day. And much cheaper...
"Is he in town?" Saxony asked.
"Maybe." Lourdes said quietly.
"So not really taking a break from the grind, huh?"
"Do I at least get credit for coming to see you first?"
"I guess." Saxony muttered, acting hurt.
"Would it make you feel better if I told you I have a 5lb bag of your favorite Coconut M &M's in my bag?"
"Now you're talking!" Saxony said perking up. "I was hoping to at least have breakfast with you, but now I have to run out to my first client. So where to lady?"
Lourdes was silent again.
"What hotel did you say you were staying at?"
Lourdes was silent a moment longer. "Why don't I just program the address into your GPS?" She smiled devilishly.

Lourdes raised her hand to knock on the door when it swung open. She stepped back startled. This was the first time she had ever been to his place in L.A. And with everything that happened, she wasn't sure if she should have even come here. But he was very persuasive. And he couldn't get away from work so he wanted her to come to him.
"Where have you been? I thought you were coming hours ago." Alexsander said.
"Sorry." She stepped in shrugging her shoulders as he grabbed her bag. "I got held up with other things. It was all I could do to get away."
"You look lovely." He said.
She took the compliment. She felt pretty good in her red cowl neck sweater and red swinging mini-skirt.
"Come here." He said. Lourdes stood there and let him embrace her for what seemed like forever. When she pulled away, there was something different about the expression on his face.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing." He said. "I just can't believe that you're here."
"Right." Lourdes said, unsure if that was what he was really thinking.
"Well are you alright, how did the other thing go?"
"Yes," she said, "I went and got it all taken care of."
"So everything is okay?"
"Yep, just like I said it would be."
Alex grabbed her face and kissed her, but Lourdes wasn't in the mood. She pulled his hands away from her face and went to sit down.
"Oh right," he said, "I guess that only solves one problem." He closed the door and came and sat down next to her. "So how did you leave it with Gabe?"
"I left it." Lourdes said. "As you know, he flew home for the holiday."
"And I haven't talked to him since. He made me promise not to do anything rash until he gets back."
"What?" Alex asked surprised. "And you agreed to that?"
"What else could I do?" Lourdes asked. "I owe him at least that much."
"No you don't!" He stood up agitated. "He's a scumbag who cheated on you, and put you through a horrible dilemma. You don't owe him anything."
"Listen to what you're saying." She said smiling. "We're just as much to blame as he is."
"No we're not." He said.
"How you figure that?"
"Because we're still in the clear."
"For the moment."
"Stacy only made herself look worse by that desperate attempt to out us. She doesn't know anything and everybody knows that."
"Maybe, but from here on out, we're going to be watched like a hawk by everybody. The seed has been planted, now people are going to wonder."
"Fuck them." Alex said. "It's none of their business."
"Yeah your right," Lourdes said, "but it doesn't matter."
"Why is that?" He asked.
"Because you and I won't be hanging together anymore at these little house parties. I think the damage has been done."
"Don't you think that only makes us look more guilty?"
"We are guilty!" She stood up. "Come on, you're an actor, you know how gossip spreads like wildfire. Think of our little social network as the media. People are still talking about what happened. Every time I speak to Emma she's in tears over her failed Christmas party. We have to nip this thing in the bud. If we don't perform damage control right now, then things can spiral out of control."
"Lourdes," he said walking over to her, "it is over. Now we just let it die a quick death."
"I agree," she said, "but no more gatherings, with you and I in the same room."
Alex sat on the arm of the sofa and rubbed the back of his neck. He studied Lourdes. "So what I hear, is that your saying you still care about what everybody else thinks, because you still intend for Gabe to be in the picture."
"I agreed to table my anger, until he gets back." She said. "That's all we left it at."
"But why did you even agree to do that? You didn't have to."
"I know that. I'm just trying to keep things civil. Isn't that what you want?"
"Gabe's my mate. He is always going to be around. But it doesn't have to be like that for you. You have a choice of whether you want to be with him or not and this is your chance to break free and..."
"And what?" Lourdes asked. "Be with you?"
Alex stared at her but was silent.
"I think that we're getting a little ahead of ourselves." Lourdes said. "Even if I did break it off with Gabe, we will still never be free to go out in public. It's all too messy. I mean, your thing with Celia, my thing with Gabriel. It'll just confirm all of their suspicions."
"I know this." He said. "But I thought we were in the clear."
"Are we?" She asked.
"What are you getting at?"
"You and Gabe must have talked after the party, did he suspect you of any kind of treachery, at all?"
Alex was silent again.
"Oh shit." Lourdes mumbled.
"No it wasn't like that." He offered. "For the most part, he ranted about Stacy, out of anger. And he felt like shit that you were put in that position, but he was grateful that you didn't pile on. He wanted to know if I thought he still had a chance with you."
"And what did you say?" Lourdes asked.
Alex shrugged his shoulders.
"What did you say?" She repeated.
"I told him no."
"Huh," she said turning away from him slightly, "because you meant it at the time or because-"
"Because you and I plus Gabe makes three and I'm looking to subtract one from the equation."
She turned back around. "And how did he take that?"
"Do you really care?" He asked.
"Yes," she said, "I need to have all my bases covered before I have to deal with him."
"He thanked me for being such a good friend and for keeping my cool at the party and then he asked me to never talk to you again."
"He did what?" She asked surprised. "He really asked you not to talk to me? Well there you have it, he knows!"
"He doesn't know anything. But you have to look at it from his perspective. He cheated on you, he's in the shithouse with his girlfriend, he has to be out of town-"
"Plus now he knows at the last minute that you're free and single." She added.
"Right," he said, going over that, "so now Gabe is the one covering all of his bases. He doesn't want to come back home and see that you turned to me for any kind of comfort. For any reason."
"And you're sure," Lourdes paused, "that's all it is."
"As sure as I can be." He said.
Lourdes nodded her head. "I don't know. It doesn't make sense. He's been pushing us and pushing us together for so long to be friends. I would think that, he'd hope that you would be here to talk him up, keep him in my good graces. Instead of telling you to keep your distance." She shook her head. "Why didn't you tell me all of this before I flew out here?"
"Why?" He asked irritated. "Does it make a difference?"
Lourdes hesitated, she didn't want to say the wrong thing. She knew she needed to choose her words carefully around him. "No it doesn't matter," she said, "I just wanted to have all the information." She tried to sound sincere. "I would have come anyway."
"Would you?" He asked.
"Babe, what do you want me to say?" Lourdes asked.
"Say that you don't care what Gabe is going through, say that all you care about is being here with me."
"I think you already know that." She said. "I'm standing here, right in front of you. And trust me, I don't generally hop on a plane for any man."
"Is that so?"
"Yep, so put that in your pipe and smoke it."
Alex laughed. It was the first time he seemed at ease since she arrived. He stood up and came over to her. He kissed her again. "How long can you stay?" He asked.
"Not long." She said. "I should probably fly back tonight."
"No way," he said kissing her again, "you just got here. That's not long enough."
"We'll have to make it work." She smiled at him. Lourdes looked around for the first time. "So, show me the place. Give me a tour."
"How about I show you the bedroom." He said pressing his body up against hers.
"Alex noooo." Lourdes whined. "You promised we'd wait."
"I can't wait." He said kissing her neck. "You know I can't." He took her hand and pressed it against his crotch. "Besides, we're both okay, you already said so."
"I'm not talking about that." She protested. Lourdes fluttered her eyes, trying to stay focused, but it was becoming hard. Tilting her head away made no difference, he only applied more pressure. "Waiting won't kills us." She whispered as he ignored her. This whole no means yes and yes means no, thing wasn't working out for her. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her eyelids. "Babe, we should definitely stop. Let's actually have a conversation for five minutes." She said as her heart started to pound faster. Alex grabbed the back of her neck and spoke in her ear in another language.
"Okay, I don't even want to know what you just said." She smiled as he laughed. "And don't ask me to repeat anymore words I don't understand." He unzipped his pants. Lourdes bit down on her bottom lip, hesitating a little too long. "I haven't even been here 30 minutes, what kind of girl do you think I am?"
"The kind that doesn't want to make me wait another second." He smiled.
"I'm sure that there are many other productive things that we could be doing."
"But none would be as fun." He replied.
"You never listen to anything I say." She tried to be serious.
"Who the fuck are you kidding?" He said, using her words. This time she couldn't hide her smile. "You knew from the moment you stepped off that plane what would happen when we saw each other." He tried to kiss her.
"Alex if you're not going to listen to me, then I'm going home right now." But who was she kidding? Lourdes turned to walk away as if she was heading for the front door.
"The fuck you are." He said grabbing her and turning her back towards him. He grabbed the back of her neck again, kissing her hard, while he took her hand and shoved it down his pants. Lourdes knew that they should wait, she was already involved in such a mess, but if she was any good at discipline then she wouldn't be in this position right now. Alex let out a low moan as she squeezed his dick a little too hard. "What the fuck are you doing?" He breathed kissing her.
"You're the one who doesn't want to stop." She said still kissing him. "Don't act like you don't like it."
Alex pulled his shirt over his head, letting it drop to the floor. He took Lourdes' hand out of his pants and turned and walked through the house. Lourdes stood still and watched him move further and further away from her until he disappeared. She smiled, shaking her head. She knew that she should feel bad about what they were doing, but her lust for him outweighed any kind of real sense that she had. Her smile grew bigger as Alex popped back into view. He was stark naked, sporting nothing but a hard on and a smile. "Are you coming?" He said, tilting his head in the direction he wanted her to follow. Then he disappeared again.
Lourdes covered her mouth and stood there a moment longer, testing his patience, and smiling to herself. She bent down, picked up his shirt and started playing with it in her hands. She walked slowly through his place and turned the corner where he had disappeared. She stepped into the room, not surprised to see him lying naked on the bed with his hands behind his head. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her.
"Go ahead and lock it." He said.
"Now why would I do that?" Lourdes asked curious. "I thought we were here alone." She refused to move away from the door until he answered her. "We are here alone aren't we?"
"Of course. But lock it anyway."
There wasn't much point in playing coy, he was already on the bed, she was already in the room....she turned and locked the door. "Thata-girl." He said grinning, as he took hold of his, already erect penis and started stroking it. She walked over to the edge of the bed. Lourdes lifted up her leg and put one knee on the mattress. "Don't be shy," he winked at her, "come over and have a taste." Lourdes stepped back, not please with his comment. "Oh well, when you put it like that, how can a girl resist?"
"Stop wasting time and get over here." He was starting to become impatient.
"What am I supposed to do with that?" She directed her eyes to his lap. "Looks to me as if you're doing a pretty good job on your on."
Yeah, it was a turn on to watch him, but she just couldn't give in that easy.
He stopped stroking but he didn't let go. "Lourdes if you make me get off this bed to come and get you-"
"You'll what?" She challenged him. "What will you do?"
He let go of himself and swung one long leg off the side of the bed.
"Wait." Lourdes smiled, holding one hand up and putting one knee back on the edge of the bed as he sat there in mid-stride. She put her other knee up on the bed and he laid back again. "You drive a hard bargain." She grinned. She watched him spread his legs back open as she walked on each knee towards him. She stopped when she reached his ankles and sat back on her legs. "Yes sir how may I service you?" She asked.
He grabbed a hold of himself again. "You can take off your clothes," he said seriously, "and, come sit on this."
Lourdes laughed. She put the tip of her thumb in her mouth and bit down, contemplating what to do...

She rolled over and stretched out her body. It must have been late. No sun was streaming through the windows, there was only darkness. She couldn't possibly have slept that long. Lourdes looked over to see the other side of the bed empty. Alex was gone. She looked over in the other direction and faced the alarm clock. It was almost 6:30pm. Where did the time go? She sat up in the bed, bringing her knees to her chest. She thought she heard voices. She tossed the covers back and quickly got dressed. She made her way to the bedroom door and put her hand on the knob, turning it slowly. She opened the door and stepped out. There was laughing in the distance. A girls laughter. Lourdes crept slowly all the way to the front. She stood there silently, watching a girl and a guy compete at a video game. She had no idea who they were. She spun around quickly to flee.
"Oh hey!" The lady said. "Don't go, wait."
Lourdes turned back around. The woman paused the game and jumped up off the sofa and made her way over to Lourdes. "Hey," she said again shaking Lourdes' hand, "sorry for the intrusion. Alex had to run out, but said he would be back a.s.a.p."
"It's no problem, I just didn't know anyone else was here. I should probably be going anyway." Lourdes spoke, trying to best asses the situation.
"No way, don't go." The woman said aggressively. "If Alex finds out that you left, just because we're here, there's going to be a problem."
Now that the woman was in her face, Lourdes could tell she was older up close. Maybe 35? She was the exact same height as Lourdes, at least 5 '10. Straight brown hair that fell to her shoulders. Fair white skin, and a smile that made Lourdes automatically think that she was trouble. She was dressed in all black and her grip was pretty firm. If she wasn't here with this guy, Lourdes would guess from her lezzie tank and her shit kicking boots that she would have to be a member of the all girls league.
"That's Isaac," The woman pointed over to the sofa as he turned and waved, "and I'm Sophie."
"Hello." Isaac said from the sofa. Lourdes sucked in her breath a little. Was she mistaken or was that another British accent? He was hot. Probably the same age as Sophie. Tall, even from where he was sitting. Very muscular arms, from the too tight t-shirt he was wearing, but smooth dark chocolate skin. Lourdes loved a brotha' with an accent.
"Hi, I'm Lourdes." She said cautiously.
"We know, it's really great to meet you." Sophie said.
"You know?" Lourdes asked. "Who I am?" She smiled nervously. "How is that?"
"From Alex." Sophie said as if it was so obvious.
"Un-huh." Lourdes said not sure what to say. "Will you excuse me for a moment? I just need to-"
The door opened and Alexsander came walking in wearing a plaid t-shirt and skinny jeans. Not one of Lourdes' favorite looks.
"You better stop her." Sophie turned to him and said. "She's ready to bail, I think she's freaked."
Lourdes smiled nervously at Sophie, then she turned and stared daggers at Alex. "I see you met my friends." He said smiling.
Lourdes raised her eyebrows at him. "I just...I need to get something." She turned and went back to the bedroom. She could hear Alex whispering something to them, but she couldn't make out what it was. Once she was in the room, she started pacing back and forth until Alex came in.
"Lourdes-" He started to say.
"Where are my things, I have to go." She said.
"Lourdes don't freak out." He said.
"I'm not freaking out." She shook her head. "I'm leaving."
"No," he said grabbing her by both shoulders, "it's not what you think."
"Not what I think?" She repeated. "Alex you lied to me! You promised it would be safe for me to come out here. It hasn't even been one day and two people have already seen me."
"You can trust them," he said, "they're my friends."
"Alex!" She said starting to get upset. "This is, so not cool. This is not okay."
"You have nothing to worry about." He said.
"And I swear to fucking god, that if my being here gets back to Gabriel in any way, shape or form-"
"Will you listen to me!" He said taking his hands away. "They," he pointed to the closed door, "are my friends. They don't talk to the media, they don't kiss and tell, and they don't know Gabriel."
Lourdes stood back and crossed her arms over her chest. She rocked back and forth on her heels. "Okay," she said, "have it your way."
"Oh don't do that." He said as she looked away. "Don't take a piss at me over this, we were having such a good time."
"Then why do you keep pushing your boundaries?" She asked. "I didn't think coming out here was a good idea, you talked me into that-"
"Oh please, if you didn't want to come, you wouldn't have!" He said.
"You knew we were suppose to wait on the sex thing and you bullied me into that."
"You're a grown woman, take some responsibility!" He said tossing his hands in the air.
"And now you invite people over, when you promised it would be just us!"
"Will you stop your bitching and moaning, because you're doing my head in!" He yelled at her.
Lourdes stopped talking, she was stunned.
"I didn't invite them over. They happened to be in town and they dropped by for a visit."
"Convenient." She mumbled.
