Prologue for Rod Galls memories
Whenever I think of Glasgow my thoughts automatically go to living their as a child and teenager, of growing up in a large industrial city during the post war period, and remembering people living in terrible circumstances cope the best way they knew how, it was a wonderful experience and I am sure it made me the person I am today for bettor or worse and I wouldn't change a thing. Memories are very personal things and in sharing them I feel that a small piece of me is exposed, they are also how I saw things through my eyes, other people seeing the same things might have seen them differently so I wont apologise for my thoughts and hope whomever reads this will enjoy it and go away with a better understanding of me. As for remembering names, most family and close acquaintances are correct others are invented, I have taken this liberty sometimes to protect there privacy and sometimes because I can. I have in writing these reminiscences would like to think it will bring me a little closer to my family especially to those whom I shall never meet.
