The Loss of You

Poetry By: A Broken Dream
Memoir

Dedicated to all those people who died in the 9/11 attack, or loss someone special to them in the Twin Towers. Even though no one in my family died from the event, it still makes me feel sad knowing many have died that day.

Where my shadow stands,

is right where you should be.

You deserve to be right here,

you should be next to me.

I try to stop it,

but the tear runs down my cheek.

I tried to talk,

but I wasn't able to speak.

It felt like yesterday,

when I saw those flames.

I try to pretend your right here,

but it doesn't feel the same.

It's not fair

that you had to die.

I never got the chance,

to say goodbye.

"On Tuesday, September 11th,

Somebody tried to take America apart.

On Tuesday, September 11th,

America came together.

On Tuesday, September 11th,

Strangers died for each other.

On Tuesday, September 11th,

America was knocked to its knees."
