I'm Sorry_

Poetry By: AMarlee
Memoir

This was inspired by another poet, whose poem I felt related to me in real life. There is info that may help better understand this poem, but I am afraid it is too personal.

*Note* The beginning of the poem is different --detached-- from the rest of the poem.

Do not make me
Try to explain
I can only give you tears
Do not ask why
I am upset
I can only deny it for so long
Do not make me
'spit it out'
What I spit at you is not the truth
--Never will be
--The truth

I'm sorry if I
misbehaved
made you mad
or made you leave
Didn't you love me?
I always loved you
Right up to the last moment
And right up to now

Memories fade with
Each passing day
I should stop picking up
The peices you left behind
But I can't
Those peices are
Everything that you were
And everything that I may be
Shall I commit suicide?
How I wish I was able to ask you
"Why?"

I can't tell you in person
That I'm sorry
