I thought it would work

I thought we would work

Until, without reason or rhyme

You told me "No."

Why? I cry

Why can't we be

Just the way we were

Before it crashed to the ground?

You were mine

My charming prince

And I was yours

Your loving princess

In a split second

You say it's over

And I am left

With ashes of our flame

I tremble,

I weep,

I shout

And no one hears

I want you to hold me

To tell me we're fine

I long to touch you

But you've left me alone

We are no longer us

Just you,

Me,

And nothing in between
