An old man ponders

An old man sits on his porch and ponders,

Where did the time go?

When I was a child

When I fell in love

Is it over the mountain?

Is it pressed in a book?

Wherever it is I just want to look

At all the sweet memories

Of all those sad songs

And raspberry ice cream

And purple balloons

The wind tousled hair of a boy on a boat

The pride on the face of a man who can gloat

Of all those nice things

all though he is alone

But deep in his heart

He has family

And faith

And love
